Re: ADLS Amend Application for Millennium Foods
Docket 11080016 ADLS Amend
Dear Angie:
Below please see in red (i) the response to the questions included in your review e -mail
of the above referenced matter dated August 24, 2011, and (ii) the response to questions and
comments from the Urban Forester.
Planning/Zoning Department Review Comments:
1. The photos of the silos you provide show chain link fences around them, but the Dept.
requests that, instead, you provide a wooden or vinyl fence or masonry wall.
A wood fence will be used in place of the chain link. The style of fence shall match the
existing wood fence in the vicinity of the loading docks.
2. Please provide bicycle parking near the employee entrances. See chapter 27.06 of the zoning
ordinance for the regulations.
Bicycle parking has been provided to accommodate 4 bike parking spots. See attached plans.
The alternative Transportation Coordinator has provided his approval as Evidenced in a letter
dater September 15, 2011.
3. Will any additional lighting be added to the site? If so, please provide the design and location
details.
No additional lighting is proposed.
4. Please continue to work with the City Forester on the required plantings.
Please see response to Urban Forestry below.

Urban Forestry Review Comments:
1. I will not request any additional landscaping requirements for this project however; I
will require that the past approved landscape plan for this site is replanted according
to the plan.
The attached, approved, landscape plan will be replanted as part of the proposed
improvements.
2. The City of Carmel Zoning Ordinance 20A.00.02.B requires that all landscaping
required and approved is perpetually maintained. This refers to replacing dead or
dying plant material with the same noted species and size. The owners of the property
are responsible for maintaining these requirements which, in this case, involves
replacing dead or dying landscaping.
The attached, approved, landscape plan will be replanted as part of the proposed
improvements.
3. I have attached the past landscape plan and have made general notes to the areas that
must be addressed with new landscaping.
Landscape materials will be planted to bring the existing Landscape Plan into
compliance as part of the permitting for the proposed improvements. The landscape
plan will be included with the building permit materials and planted and inspected as
part of the normal building permit process.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to call.
Very truly yours,
NELSON FRANKENBERGER, P.C.
