1. Fiberglass shingles (25 yr.)
are installed over 30 lb. felt roofing.
Shingles are seal-down type for extra
years of dependability. A continuous
ridge vent and perforated soffits in a
6-inch overhang provide air flow.
2. The classroom arrives at the install-
ation site bearing the inspection seal of
all necessary state agencies. The unit is
ready to be bolted down, plugged in and
turned on for education.
3. Roof trusses have a pitch of 3:12. The
center beam is designed for maximum
strength with no interruption of the ceiling.
Trusses and beams have been certified by
state building departments.
4. Exterior entrance light with photocell.
5. Porcelain steel chalkboards with
trays and map rails.
6. Vinyl covered tack boards.
7. 10-inch steel perimeter I-Beam frame provides
positive support for the entire classroom.
8. Two teacher's closets each contain 5 full
width shelves and a locking door.
9. Electrical wiring is all-copper construction
installed in EMT conduit. Connection is through
a 100 Amp (min.) breaker-type service panel.
Duplex grounding-type receptacles are
strategically located.
10. A galvanized steel moisture barrier is
heavy enough to stop vermin. This barrier
holds the R-11 fiberglass insulation in place.
11. Unideck is built in one piece, then
split for construction of transportable
units. This assures a smooth fit when the
classroom is assembled at the site.
12. Floor covering is a 58 oz., 100% fila-
ment olefin carpeting with unitary backing
that meets HUD & FHA certifications. It will
provide a seamless appearance.
13. Side walls are built to
commercial frame construction
standards -- studs are on 16"
centers, with R-11 faced fiber-
glass insulation. Sheathing is
7/16" oriented strand board.
14. T.V. outlet jack, with
exterior coaxial connector.
15. Interior walls are pre-finished, all-
wood hardwood laminate paneling, not
print-finished board. All trim is installed.
16. Suspended ceiling uses 2'x4' pre-
finished, high humidity resitant, acoustical
lay-in panels. This double web grid system
meets ASTM specifications. R-19 insul-
ation resists heat and cold.
17. Sixteen lighting fixtures each with
energy saving electronic ballasts and four
4 ft. bulbs, are recessed into the
suspended ceiling for ample candlepower.
18. Fire Extinguisher.
19. Conduit rough-ins for fire
and smoke alarm system.
20. Interior exit lights over each door
contain emergency battery packs.
21. Emergency lighting system, with
battery pack.
22. A wall mounted HVAC unit uses a
ceiling ducted system to provide air
conditioning, fresh air and heat. A sound
insulated plenum ensures quiet operation.
23. Floor joists are nailed and glued to
tongue & groove underflooring for a
unideck system that supports a load of
109 pounds per square foot.
24. Layout of piers and supports is
carefully designed to balance the floor
load throughout the classroom, with no
soft spots. Overall building construction
and tie-downs (not shown) are designed
to withstand up to 120 MPH winds.
25. Clock and pre-wired clock outlet.
26. Heavy-duty aluminum vertical siding,
with baked enamel finish, provides rugged
durability against the elements. All soffits
are enclosed.
27. Vinyl sliding windows, with
insulated double pane glass, are
furnished complete with screens.
Locations may be changed to suit
the installation site. Attractive
room-darkening aluminum mini-
blinds are included for use with
audio-visual equipment.
28. Skirting matches the siding, creating a
permanent look by extending to grade level.
It is added after the classroom is installed.
29. Entrance door locks are supplied per
school specifications, for ease in keying to
existing lock systems.
30. Galvanized steel exterior doors and
frames are fully insulated and equipped
with panic hardware. Doors and equipment
meet handicapped codes. Location may be
changed to suit the installation site.
31. Gutters and downspouts are commercial
grade, 5 inch seamless aluminum, installed
after the classroom is in place.
