The signs are located at 382 Arbor Drive in the City of Carmel. All signs located in Clay Township are required to have sign permits according to Section 25.07.07 of the Carmel/Clay Zoning Ordinance which states the following: Except as otherwise provided in this Ordinance, it shall be unlawful for any person to establish any sign within the jurisdictional area of this Ordinance, or cause the same to be done without first obtaining a sign permit for each sign from the Administrator as required by this Ordinance. I . The design of the permanent signage was approved by a committee of the Plan Commission through ADLS (Architecture, Design, Lighting, and Signage) Review. However, following approval by the Plan Commission committee, sign permits should have been obtained for both signs. Also, both signs were installed within the Right of Way area and are currently obstructing the construction of a multi -use pedestrian path. Therefore, we need these permanent signs to be removed IMMEDIATELY and you may apply for proper sign permits for the reinstallation of permanent signs that would be located outside of the City of Carmel's right of way area. It is important to note that the City of Carmel does have the right to remove obstructions placed illegally within the right of way area, therefore your immediate attention to these issues would be appreciated.
