Community Response
February 20, 2009
To Whom It May Concern:
As a former member of the Carmel community, 1991 alumnus of Carmel High School (CHS), and an active
participant in the performing arts during my time in Carmel and at CHS, I am happy to speak about the
extraordinary attributes and skills of Larry and Susan Creviston. Larry and Susan were instrumental people
in my development as an artist and as a human being. As theatre artisans they are smart, inventive,
charismatic, and creative. Further, their work ethic and drive sets the standard of excellence amongst their
community peers. Their efforts on behalf of the arts in Carmel are clearly immeasurable.
Now, as the Department Chair of Theatre and Dance at Ball State University, 1 have had the opportunity to
work with young artists and students who have worked with Larry and Susan. This work has spanned a
variety of settings, including auditions, workshops, classes and rehearsals. Yet no matter what the
circumstance, I have seen students excel time and again under the tutelage of Larry and Susan. It is no
surprise that their collective reputations continue to flourish in both central Indiana and across the state.
From my experiences as a former drama student at Carmel High School to my experiences working with
current students who have worked with Lang and Susan, it is clear to me that with the passing of time,
these remarkable people have not only maintained, but exceeded their renowned standard of excellence in
theatre. I recommend Larry and Susan without reservation and hope that you will seriously consider what
dynamic artists they are within the Carmel community. If you need further information please feel free to
contact me at 765- 285 -8740 or via e-mail at wjenkins @bsu.edu.
Sincerely,
Bill Jenkins, Chair
