Once all information is presented to DOCS and a rev/ew completed for comp!i~-ce, a
docket number will be released when the filing fee is submitted.
If a public hearing is required, mail notices of development plan hearin~ to adjacent
property owners and put public notice in the Noblesville Ledger at least twenty-five
(25) days prior to the hearing date.
At least five (5) working days prior to the hearing the petitioner must submit proof
of publications (2), proof of adjacent property owner nofifcation (both the white
and green cards), and a completed Petitioners Affidavit of Notice of Public Hearing
to the DOCS.

hearing) and 8ive a presentation. Information should be presented on a poster board so

Graduate of Miami University~ Oxford, OH, 1964 with a BS an
Business AdministratiOn and later received a Masters in Business
Administration majoring in Real Estate from the American
University, Washington, D.C., 1968. Sam S. Schahet & COmpany,
developed its first Holiday Inn in 1960. Throughout his career
~ith Schahet Hotels, Gary has worked both in thefield and office
in all phases of hotel development and.'operation. 'He has been
involved in the development, management, upgrading and renovation
of all Schahet .hotels. Over the years, his company .has developed
14 hotels'. Schahet Hotels currently operates 6"hotels including
Holiday Inns, HamptOnInns and Courtyard by Marriott hotels. The
company received a Modernization Award from HolidayInns in 1988.
Gary's involvement with the International Association Of Holiday
Inns [I.A.H.I.) began in the early 1970's. In 1990, he received
the I.A.H.I. Award of Excellence for outstanding service as a
member and Chairperson of the Reservations Committee. This past
year, he served as President of the I~A.H.I. and currently sits on
the Board and Executive Committee as the immediate past president.
Gary has also 'been active in the United Jewish Appeal Young
Leadership Cabinet, Indianapolis Jewish Welfare Federation,
Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, Bureau of Jewish Education,
United Way, Methodist Health Foundation, Indianapolis Visitors &
Convention Bureau, and is a past board member of the Indiana'Hotel
& Motel Association.
Gary and his wife, Phyllis, have a daughter, Lisa, and a son, Greg.
Jeffrey graduated from the University of Iowa in 1975 with majors in
Accounting and Industrial Relations. He has held a C.P.A. certificate from
the .State of indiana since. 1980. Currently he is Vice President of
Operations and PUrchasing for Schahet HOtels.
In 1976 Jeffrey began his career with the comp&ny. He.first worked in all
different areas of hotel operations by assisting the District Director
wherever attention' was needed. He therefore became.very knowledgeable
regardingthe daY-to~day operations of a h0%el. With the.experienced gained
inhotet operations, he t~en became a traveling general manager replacing
generai managers who hadeither quit or been.terminated.' He took care of the
problem areas,'as well as. assisting in hiring and'training a new general
manager for the property. With his experience~in accounting, he was also
able to oversee allaccounting operations of the home office and instituted
the first computer system to help streamline and produce financial statements
~for.all Schahet Hotels' proDerties.
ThiS.prior experience eventually led' to his current position as Vice
President of operations and '.Purchasing for the company. In his current
position, he has been responsible for a wide Variety of dutiesfrom writing
the company .employee manual.and handling all company benefit plans to
assistingin development and overseeing construction of new hotels. He has
implemented many of the controls and procedures used. at the' hotels. Jeffrey
handles ail major purchasing for ca~ital expenditures, as well as purchases
for maintenance .items and other items, that have been set up to take
advantage of group purchasing.and save the company money. Me also handles
all the insurance'needs Of the hotels. Jeffrey hashandled most of. the
interior design on renovation.'ofguest rooms, as well as assisting decorators
for overall commercial re-design and concept at many of the hotels.
His primary responsibilities still include overseeing day-to-day operations
of the hotels.underSchahet's.management. He works very closely with the
General Managers and salesdepartments at each of the hotels. All menus and
manyof the food and beverage promotions over the years have been developed
and..w~.itten by Jeffrey. His experience also includes working closely with
thedlfferent franchisors of hotelsthe Schahet management team has owned or
managed.
In 1995, Jeffrey Brown served as Presiden~ of the Hampton Inn Grea't Lakes
StatesMarketing partnershiP, a five-state association with over 50 member
hotels. He received the.President's Award from Hampton Inn in 1996. Jeffrey
is also a BoardMember of the Indiana Hotel & Motel Association. In 1.997 he
received the Indiana State "Hotelier of the Year Award"'. He is alifetime
memberof the University of.Iowa Alumni Association and Alpha Kappa Psi.
ThrOughout his many years in the hospitality business, he' has attended many
seminars, workshops and schools.

Mr. McConnell joined the organization in 1988. He is responsible
for the total financial operations of the hotels"Under Schahet
Management. He has also assisted in. implementing many of the
computer systems used in the office and h0tels~ Nr. McConnell
insures that all financial reporting is accurate, timely and
reliable.
Prior experience includes four years with a C.P.A~ Big Eight firm
and 17 years with a private sector, company. Mr. M¢Connell holds a
B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University and a..C.P.A, license
from the state of Indiana.
Tom and his wife, Teri, have five children.
