The approval of this variance will not be injurious to the public health, safety, morals and general welfare of the
community because:
It is a fixed sign at the top of a 6-story building. Fifth Third Bank will provide beneficial__
services to the community.

The use and value of the area adjacent to the property included in the variance will not be affected in a
substantially adverse manner because:
The signage does not encroach any other property, nor will it adversely affect traffic to
and from adjacent properties.

The strict application of the terms of the Zoning Ordinance to the property will result in practical difficulties in the
use of the property because:
The bank will not be visible to the user thus causing 'confusion to the ultimate destination
thus causing the bank to lose business which affects the profit of the bank.
DECISION
IT IS THEREFORE the decision of the Carmel/Clay Board of Zoning Appeals that Development Standards Variance
Docket No. is granted, subject to any conditions stated in the minutes of this
Board, which are incorporated herein by reference and made a part hereof.

STATEMENT OF VARIANCE
Fifth Third Bank proposes a 100 square foot wall sign to be located at the top of the
existing 6-story Tower 3 in Fidelity Plaza.
Section 25.07.02-11 (b) - Multi-tenant building complex
STATEMENT OF SUPPORT
The bank requires a marquee sign due to its location within a multi-tenant building so
that its customers can easily locate the bank from a distance. There is a precedent for two
marquee signs elsewhere in the complex.
