Hi Cindy
Lisa mentioned you were looking for back up for the day in between BusCon and the ASLA meeting while
in Chicago last month.
That day started early because I had to stop by CTA headquarters to get my week transit pass. When I
paid for the transit pass at O'hare the day before (9/16), the machine only issued a receipt. The attendant
told me I'd need to get that squared away with headquarters. Which I was able to do the following
morning.
I had originally scheduled to meet the morning of 9/17 with Karyn Robles (Ryg) who used to work for us
but is now the chief transportation planner for Naperville. The meeting was to learn what they have going
in Naperville, find out what she is doing, meet with the planning staff, and see some of the highlights in
town. The CTA experience to get my pass took longer than I hoped, which resulted in me missing the
early train Metra) which left at 8:20. 1 thought it was possible to piece together a trip using the CTA rail
and PACE bus service which is the suburban bus service, so I headed west on the greenline.
I was able to get as far as Cicero, but had to cancel the meeting because I was not able to catch a bus
that would get me to Naperville, and back, in time for a 2:00 conference call with our SmartCode
consultants, Adrienne, John Molitor and me.
o, I took the CTA back, bought some lunch, went back to the hotel and worked until the SmartCode call
2:00, which lasted 2 hours plus.
up
If you need additional specific info, such as phone or email records please let me know. If you want to
call Karyn to verify the meeting and conversations related to, her phone number is 1 630 420 6070 (or
email roblesk(a)naperville.il.us Also, if you would like, I still have the Metra ticket (for the missed train,
which did not get charged to the city).
Hope this helps.
