Growing 'Young 9Ylinds, Developing Big Tafents! 2 The International Talent Academy (17A) is a non profit educational organization that was established in Carmel, Indiana in 2006. Our mission is to promote awareness ofearly brain development and provide advanced learning opportunities to young children and their parents through internationally acclaimed programs in music, art, theater, dance, and liberal arts, all in ONE location. The International Talent Academy is dedicated to elevating performing arts and early childhood education to world -class standards, and helping children to discover their talents and reach their fullest potential. We greatly appreciate the grant ITA received last year, and would like to report what was accomplished with its help during the last year: ITA 2008 year report: 1. 9 different performing and liberal art programs for children and adults have been opened in Carmel during the year of 2008 (compared to 2 programs in 2007). 2. The programs include: 1) Music for Little Mozarts for 3 -5 year old chi Idren 2) Creative Dramatics for 3 -5 year old children 3) Etiquette for Little Ones for 3 -5 year old children 4) Etiquette Kingdom 6 -9 year olds 5) Dancing Little Star 5 -8 year olds 6) Dancing as a Star 1 9 -13 year olds 7) Dancing as the Stars (adults) 8) "Piano Adventures" at 2 preschools 9) Discover Your Talents summer camp 3. 298 students participated in the ITA programs in 2008. 4. 3 teachers have been hired for Ballroom Dance, Piano lessons, and Etiquette program. 5. ITA organized a major fundraiser to provide a scholarship for talented young pianist Hannah Carroll, to participate at the Rotary International Music competition in Moscow, Russia. Hannah represented the United States and the City of Carmel and earned 5` place competing against young pianists from Russia and Europe. 6. Four Carmel piano students, winners of the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati, were sponsored by ITA in a trip to Carnegie Hall, NY. In addition, the ITA provided a scholarship to Young ballroom dancers, who were winners of many local ballroom dance competitions. 7. The ITA has been actively involved in several Carmel events and music competitions such as the CarmelFest, the International Arts Festival, and other non profit organization fundraisers. In addition, ITA students won many prizes and honors in the Young Performers Showcase presented by the Cannel Arts Council and Piano Solutions. 8. To support local art organizations' fundraisers, the ITA has provided gift certificates for lessons. 9. The ITA Board of Directors added three very active and professional Board members to its team. Our Goals for 2009 are: 1. To open more programs at the Monon Center, Second Story Playhouse, and local preschools. 2. To hire additional teachers for music and theater programs. 3. To continue promoting young students and provide scholarships. 4. To attract and promote the most talented students, to represent the city of Carmel in international competitions. 5. To participate in Carmel community and Arts and Design District events. 6. To develop new marketing strategies for the ITA. 7. To explore additional sponsors and grant opportunities. 8. To expand course offerings, by purchasing additional program equipment.
