NOTE:
LEGAL NOTICE shall be published in the Indianapolis Star a MANDATORY twenty-five (25) days prior to the public
hearing date. The certified "Proof of Publication" affidavit for the newspaper must be available for inspection the night of
the hearing.
LEGAL NOTICE to all adjoining and abutting property owners is also MANDATORY, two methods of notice are
recommended:
1) CERTIFIED MAIL - RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED sent to adjoining property owners. (The white receipt
should be stamped by the Post Office at least twenty-five (25) days prior to the public hearing date.)
2) HAND DELIVERED to adjoining and abutting property owners (A receipt signed by the adjoining and abutting
property owner acknowledging the twenty-five (25) day notice should be kept for verification that the notice was
completed)

Notice is hereby given that the Carmel/Clay Board of Zoning Appeals meeting on the day of
,20 at 7:00 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers, 1 Civic Square, Carmel,
46032 will hold a Public Hearing upon a Development Standards Variance application to:

The Party Tree opened its doors in 1990 in Carmel. We are a small family owned business,
which has grown over the years. We are a proven destination location for party shoppers
throughout Hamilton County and central Indiana. Our image is known throughout the United
States and Canada. The annual party conference in San Diego this past January opened with a
picture of the outside of The Party Tree. The guest speaker said this is the way a party store
should represent their selves. We donate thousands of dollars of product annually to all of the
local Hamilton County schools, churches, not for profit organizations and local city government.
Within the last couple of years national party chains have moved into Hamilton County (Factory
Card Outlet/Party City). With this threat, the last thing we want to do is change our image. Over
the years city management has overlooked the neon signs in our windows. The Party Tree is like
the city of Carmel; in that we are known as the leader in our industry.
