It is a monetary commitment to the city in lieu of constructing the sidewalk. A variance is an option but is not necessary. If you provide a commitment to the city a variance would not be required. As I recall we discussed this in the TAC meeting. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. If you would like to pursue with a commitment to the city you should contact Gary Duncan with our engineering department. We are not agreeing to build a sidewalk at a later date. As was discussed and agreed to during the TAC review and at the TAC meeting, it is physically impossible to install a sidewalk on this slope. I was under the impression that recording the re -plat resolved this ;ssue. Please let me know if a formal variance is needed in this situation, as this is the first I have heard of such need.
