Overall, very well done! Please look over the comments and let me know what you think about if anything can be changed or altered. I'm also looking for some clarification on some of the signs. I've attached a summary document of all the signs shown in the packet. Please look over this and let me know if I'm missing anything or if something needs to be changed. The Palladium 1. I could not locate two signs on the plan. Is there an update regarding these signs? a. Pedestrian directional ground sign at 6.39 sq. ft. listed on page G1.11 b. Dedication plaque at 6 sq. ft. listed on page G1.17 (I realize it says location to be determined just need to know if it has been determined yet) 2. Overall proposed sign square footage is 160.70 sq. ft. This is under the 170 sq. ft. that is allowed by the Sign Ordinance. I am impressed! 3. I like the black and bronze look very sophisticated. 4. The main ground sign at the corner of 3rd Ave. SW and City Center Drive seems wonderful. I'm happy it will match the building and have a plaza around it. It will be a nice entry element. 5. The LCD box office sign is very tasteful and appropriately sized. 6. I think the vehicular directional signs are a little high and the text perhaps too small. Will people be able to read those signs driving by, even if it's illuminated? 7. I like the use of reflective vinyl on some of the directional signs. However, the font on some of the pedestrian directional signs seems too small (black and bronze). 8. I was pleasantly surprised at the simplicity of the entry signage. However it seems to be just right! The 500 200 Seat Theatres 1. North elevation: a. Estimate of total proposed square feet is 365, 75 would be allowed if facing a public street b. Impressed with the design of building and placement of signs for this elevation with the exception of the banner on the northwestern edge and the Civic Theatre sign i. The banner seems out of character with the "ornate -ness" of the north elevation ii. Is the design of the Civic Theatre sign final? It seems small and out of scale in comparison to the building iii. Are there signs planned to the west and east of the main entrance? (in the center of the towers) And near the western edge of the building? It looks like there might be room for advertising signs in those spaces. Please confirm. 2. West elevation: a. Estimate of total proposed square feet is 744, 75 is allowed b. Concerned in general about banners on all sides of building. What are these intended for? Advertising future shows? Non advertising design elements to break up the vast expanse of brick? c. Concerned the three banners on the southern end of building should be centered between top of building and parapet wall d. What kind of up lighting will be used to light the banners? Will it be able to wash the entire banner? e. Again, is a sign proposed at the northern end of building at pedestrian level? It looks like there might be room for advertising signs in those spaces. Please confirm. 3. South elevation: Have a good day! Estimate of total proposed square feet is 688, 60 would be allowed if facing public street b. Concerned about varying sizes shown for banners on this elevation. Could they all be uniform size across the wall? c. Where will these banners be seen from? Is the focus drive bys on the street? The concern is that this area is more of a "loading area" and may not need all the additional signage. The brick might be fine as is on this elevation. http: /www.ci.carmel.in.us /services /communityservice.html Please consider the environment before printing this e -mail
