AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARMEL, INDIANA, AMENDING CARMEL CITY CODE, CHAPTER 2,
ARTICLE 4, ADDING SECTION 2 -142, ESTABLISHING THE CITY OF
CARMEL HISTORIC PRESERVATION FUND #507
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carmel desires to establish a fund for
the revenue and expenses of the Carmel Historic Preservation Fund; and
WHEREAS, this fund is to be used exclusively for the expenses of the Cannel Historic
Preservation Committee; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Carmel, Indiana, as follows:
Section 1: The foregoing Recitals are fully incorporated herein by this reference.
Section 2: That Chapter 2, Article 4, of the Carmel City Code is hereby amended to add
a new Section 2 -142 which shall read as follows:
(a) There is established a Cannel Historic Preservation Fund to be used
exclusively for the purpose of accepting and disbursing monies.
(b) This fund shall be identified as Fund #507 and shall be administered by the
fiscal officer of the City of Carmel.
Section 3. That the remaining provisions of Carmel City Code Chapter 2, Article 4, are
not affected by this Ordinance and remain in full force and effect.
Section 4. If any portion of this Ordinance is for any reason declared to be
unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of
this Ordinance so long as enforcement of same can be given the same effect.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
signing by the Mayor and such publication as is required by law.
PASSED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana this 10 day of
2012, by a vote of 7 ayes and c`7 nays.
