The applicant is proposing to rezone 2.567 acres within the Old Meridian Zone from the Single
Family Attached (OM/SF A) designation to the Multi-Family (OM!MF) designation and expand
the previously approved plan onto that area as well as incorporating the land at the corner of
Pennsylvania and Main Street. The rezone is addressed under tabs 1-5 in the booklet and the
ADLS within tabs 6-10.
The rezon(:isnecessary to consolidate an appropriate area within the parent tract into a single
zone to alIQwt:h(: proposed multi-family use. Old Meridian! Multi-Family (OM!MF) is proposed
to allow the construction of the apartment community envisioned for the area as part of the Old
Meridian Plan. . You will find included in the information packet a copy of the plan approved in
2003. Th(:!?epartrnent views this proposed rezone as a logical step in realizing the vision ofthe
OldMc::rid.i~Plan. . The petitioner has displayed how the previously approved area complies
withJh(:\re'luirements of the Old Meridian plan as outlined in the Ordinance and Comprehensive
Plan for the area.

area of expansion to math that area already approved by the Commission.
The Commission request the site engineer contact Mr. Swift (area resident) regarding drainage

The Department recommends that the Special Studies Committee forward these items back
to the full Plan Commission after all comments and concerns are addressed.
