RECOMMENDATIONS FOR BRACING 4x2 FLOOR TRUSSES
2X6 STRONGBACR BRACING IS RECOMMENDED IN ALL FLOOR TRUSS FLOOR
ASSEMBLIES. AS SHOWN IN DETAIL 10, A 2X6 STRONGBACR RAN
LATERALLY THROUGH THE SYSTEM, IS NOT TO EXCEED j FEET. THE 2X6
IS TO BE PLACED OI EDGE & ATTACHED TO THE & O •f M
CHORD USING (3) 10D NAILS ® EACH VERTICAL.
WHEN IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR 2X6 STRONGBACK BRACING TO BE A
CONTINUOUS PIECE, IT SHOULD BE OVERLAPPKD BY AT LEAST TWO FEET,
BY USING THE OPPOSITE FACES OF THE SECURING VERTICALS. IF IT IS
IMPOSSIBLE TO USE BOTH FACES OF THE VERTICALS, THE STRONGBACR, IS
TO BE BUTTED TOGETHER AND SPLICED WITH A A' -0 2X6 SCAB SECURED
WITH (12) 16D NAILS CLINCHED.
SPANS WHERE ONLY (1) ROW OF BRACING IS NEEDED, ONE OF THE
VERTICALS a THE HEAT CHASE OPENING CAN BE USED.
