The work described in this specification includes oil engineering, labor, materials, equipment and services necessary, and required, to complete and test the suppression system. II. APPLICABLE STANDARDS AND PUBLICATIONS: The design, equipment, installation, testing and maintenance of the FM -200 suppression system sholl be in accordance with the applicable requirements set forth in the latest edition of the following codes and standards: 1 NFPA No. 2001 - Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems 2 NFPA No. 12A - Holon 1301 Fire Extinguishing Systems 3 NFPA No. 70 - National Electrical Code 4 NFPA No. 72 - Standard For Protective Signaling 5 NFPA No. 75 - Electronic Computer Systems 6 Factory Mutual Approval Guide 7 U.L Listings 8 Requirements of the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) The standards listed, as well as all other applicable codes and standards, shall be used as "minimum" design stondards. Also to be considered ore the requirements of the "Authority Having Jurisdiction" and good engineering practices. III. REQUIREMENTS: The FM -200 Suppression System installation shall be made in accordance with the drawings, specifications and applicable standards. Should a conflict occur betweenthe drawings and specifications, the specifications shall prevail. IV. EXCLUSIONS: The work listed below sholl be provided by others or under other sections of this specification: 1 120 VAC power supply to the FM -200 control panel 2� Interlock wiring and conduit for shutdown of HVAC, dampers and /or electric power supplies, relays or shunt trip breakers 3) Connection to local or remote fire olorm systems or listed central alarm stations) V. QUALITY ASSURANCE: A) MANUFACTURER: 1) The manufacturer of the FM -200 suppression system hardware and detection components shall have a minimum of 10 years experience in the design and manufacture of similar types of suppression systems and who can refer to similar installotions providing satisfactory service. 2) All devices, components and equipment shall be the products of the some manufacturer. 3 All devices and equipment shall be U.L listed and /or FM approved. B. INSTALLER: 1) The installing contractor sholl be trained by the manufacturer to design, install, test and maintain FM -200 fire suppression systems. 2) The installing contractor must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in the design, installation and testing of FM -200, or similar, fire suppression systems. A list of systems of a similar nature and scope shall be provided on request. C SUBMITTALS: 1) The installing contractor sholl submit the following design information and drawings for approval prior to starting work on this project: a) Field installation layout drawings having a scale of not less than 118" =1' -0" detailing the location of oil agent storage tanks, pipe runs including pipe sizes and lengths, control panel(s), detectors, manual pull stations, abort stations, audible and visual alarms, etc. b) Graphic Annunciator wiring schematics and dimensioned display panel illustration shall be provided. c) Complete hydraulic flow calculations, from a U.L. listed computer program, sholl be provided for oil engineered FM -200 systems. Calculation sheet(s) must include the manufacturers name and U.L. listing for verification. The individual sections of pipe and each fitting to be used, as shown on the isometrics, must be identified and included in the calculation. Total agent discharge time must be shown and detailed by zone. VI. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION: A) The system shall be a total flooding FM -200 extinguishing system manufactured by: FIKE 'FM200' FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM LIEBERT ENVIROMENTAL CONTROL UNIT L -1 ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL SYSTEM (L -1) SPECIFICATIONS 1.0 GENERAL 1.1 SUMMARY These specifications describe requirements for a computer room environmental control system. The system shall be designed to maintain temperature and humidity conditions in the rooms containing electronic equipment. The manufacturer sholl design and furnish all equipment to be fully compatible with heat dissipation requirements of the room. 1.2 DESIGN REQUIREMENTS The computer room environmental control system shall be o self - contained factory assembled unit with down -flow air delivery and rear return. The system shall have a total cooling capacity of 120,100 BTU /HR, with a sensible cooling capacity of 109,500 BTU /HR based on on entering air temperature of 72 degrees Fahrenheit dry bulb and 60 degrees Fahrenheit wet bulb. The unit is to be supplied with 208 volt 3 ph 60 Hz electrical service. 1.3 SUBMITTALS Submittals sholl be provided with the proposal and shall include: Single -Line Diagrams; Dimensional, Electrical, and Capacity data; Piping and Electrical Connection Drawings. 2.0 PRODUCTS 2.1 Cabinet and Frame Construction The frame shall be constructed of heliorc welded tubular steel. The exterior panels shell be insulated with a minimum 1 in., 1.5 lbs. density fiber insulation. The main front panel shall hove captive 1/4 turn fasteners. The main unit color shall be as selected by the architect. 2.2 Filter Chamber The filter chambers sholl be on integral port of the system, located within the rear return plenum serviceable from either end of the unit. The filters sholl be rated not less than 20% efficiency (based on ASHRAE 52 -76). 2.3 Fan Section The fon shall be the centrifugal type, double width double inlet, and shall be statically and dynamically balanced as o completed assembly to a maximum vibration level of two mils in any plane. The shaft shall be heavy duty steel with self - aligning boll bearings with a minimum life span of 100,000 hours. The fon motor shell be 2 hp at 1750 RPM and mounted on on adjustable slide base. The drive package sholl be two -belt, variable speed, sized for 200% of the fan motor horsepower. The fops sholl be located to draw air over the A -frame coil to ensure even air distribution and maximum coil performance. Blow through coil designs will not be accepted. 2.5 Control Processor The control system sholl be microprocessor based. The system shall be provided with two .43 inch high, seven segment LED numerical displays to allow observation of room temperature and humidity and each settoble function: Temperature Setpoint 65 -85 degrees Fahrenheit Temperature Sensitivity 1 to 5 degrees Fahrenheit Humidity Setpoint 40 -60% R.H. Humidit Sensitivity 1% to 10% R.H. Humidifier Flush Rote. Normal Operating Modes (Heating, Cooling, Dehumidification) shall be indicated by colored LEDs on the unit - mounted display panel. The control system shall monitor unit operation and activate on audible and visual olorm in the event the following factory preset olorm conditions: High Temperature Low Temperature High Humidity Low Humidity Restricted Air Filters Loss of Air. A common alarm light shall be activated when any of the above conditions exist. The common alarm shell also indicate high head pressure, or water under floor. A compressor sequence feature shall be provided to change the lead /log sequence of the compressors. 2.6 Compressorized Systems 2.6.1 Dual Refrigeration Systems Each refrigeration circuit shall include hot gas mufflers, liquid line filter dryers, refrigerant sight glass with moisture indicator adjustable, externally equalized expansion valves, and liquid line solenoid valves. 2.6.2 Semi- Hermetic Compressors The compressors shall be located in a separate comportment so they may be serviced during operation of the equipment. The compressor shall be semi - hermetic with a suction gas cooled motor, vibration isolators, thermal overloads, oil sight gloss, manual reset high pressure switch, pump down low pressure switch, suction line strainer, reversible oil pumps for forced feed lubrication, a maximum operating speed of 1750 RPM, and a minimum EER of 11.4. Fully hermetic type compressors will not be accepted. 2.6.3 A - Frame D.X. Coil The evaporator coil shall be on A -Frame design and have 14.2 sq. ft. face area, 4 rows deep. It shall be constructed of copper tubes and aluminum fins and have a maximum face velocity of 384 ft. per minute at 5650 CFM. Refrigerant of each system shall be distributed throughout the entire coil face area. A stainless steel condensate drain pan sholl be provided. 2.6.4 Air Cooled Systems 2.6.4.1 Fan Speed Control Condenser The Liebert manufactured air cooled condenser shall be the low profile, slow speed, multiple direct drive, propeller fon type. The condenser shall balance the heat rejection of the compressor at 95 degrees Fahrenheit ambient. The condenser sholl be constructed of aluminum and contain a copper tube, aluminum fin coil arranged for horizontal air discharge. The winter control system for the air cooled condenser shall be Liebert Fan Speed Control. The variable speed motor sholl operate from 0 to 230 volts single phase, 10 to 1050 rpm. It shall be designed with boll bearings, permanent lubrication, internal overload protection, 40 degrees Celsius rise at full speed, 65 degrees Celsius rise at 10 RPM. The control system sholl be complete with transducers, thermostats and electrical control circuit, factory pre- pockaged in the integral condenser control box. The transducer shalt automatically sense the highest head pressure of either operating compressor and control the variable speed fon on the air cooled condenser to properly maintain the head pressure. The fon speed control system shall provide positive start -up and operation in ambient temperature as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit. The air cooled condenser shall have a 208 volt, 3 ph 60 Hz power supply. 2.6.4.2 Air Cooled Condenser Disconnect Switch Provide a disconnect switch factory mounted and wired to the condenser control panel, accessible from the exterior. 2.7 The computer room environmental control system shall be equipped with the following components. Disconnect Switch Non - Locking Type The non - automatic molded case circuit breaker shall be mounted in the high voltage section of the electrical panel. The switch shall be accessible with the door closed. Condensate Pump The condensate pump shall have the capacity of 145 GPH at 20 ft. head. It shall be complete with integral float switch, pump and motor assembly, and reservoir. Floor Stand Provide optional floor stand under unit. 3.0 EXECUTION 3.1 Installation of Computer -Room Air Conditioning Units 3.1.1 General Install computer room air conditioning units in accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions. Install units plumb and level, firmly anchored in locations indicated, and maintain manufacturer's recommended clearances. 3.1.2 Electrical Wiring Install and connect electrical devices furnished by manufacturer but not specified to be factory mounted. Furnish copy of manufacturer's electrical connection diagram submittal to electrical contractor. 3.1.3 Piping Connections Install and connect devices furnished by manufacturer but not specified to be factory mounted. Furnish copy of manufacturer's piping connection diagram submittal to piping contractor. 3.2 Field Quality Control The system shall be check test and Started by the local manufactures representive in accordance with manufacturer's start up instructions. The control system shall monitor unit operation and activate on audible and visual olorm in the event the following factory preset olorm conditions: High Temperature Low Temperature High Humidity Low Humidity Restricted Air Filters Loss of Air. A common alarm light shall be activated when any of the above conditions exist. The common alarm shell also indicate high head pressure, or water under floor. A compressor sequence feature shall be provided to change the lead /log sequence of the compressors. 2.6 Compressorized Systems 2.6.1 Dual Refrigeration Systems Each refrigeration circuit shall include hot gas mufflers, liquid line filter dryers, refrigerant sight glass with moisture indicator adjustable, externally equalized expansion valves, and liquid line solenoid valves. 2.6.2 Semi- Hermetic Compressors The compressors shall be located in a separate comportment so they may be serviced during operation of the equipment. The compressor shall be semi - hermetic with a suction gas cooled motor, vibration isolators, thermal overloads, oil sight gloss, manual reset high pressure switch, pump down low pressure switch, suction line strainer, reversible oil pumps for forced feed lubrication, a maximum operating speed of 1750 RPM, and a minimum EER of 11.4. Fully hermetic type compressors will not be accepted. 2.6.3 A - Frame D.X. Coil The evaporator coil shall be on A -Frame design and have 14.2 sq. ft. face area, 4 rows deep. It shall be constructed of copper tubes and aluminum fins and have a maximum face velocity of 384 ft. per minute at 5650 CFM. Refrigerant of each system shall be distributed throughout the entire coil face area. A stainless steel condensate drain pan sholl be provided. 2.6.4 Air Cooled Systems 2.6.4.1 Fan Speed Control Condenser The Liebert manufactured air cooled condenser shall be the low profile, slow speed, multiple direct drive, propeller fon type. The condenser shall balance the heat rejection of the compressor at 95 degrees Fahrenheit ambient. The condenser sholl be constructed of aluminum and contain a copper tube, aluminum fin coil arranged for horizontal air discharge. The winter control system for the air cooled condenser shall be Liebert Fan Speed Control. The variable speed motor sholl operate from 0 to 230 volts single phase, 10 to 1050 rpm. It shall be designed with boll bearings, permanent lubrication, internal overload protection, 40 degrees Celsius rise at full speed, 65 degrees Celsius rise at 10 RPM. The control system sholl be complete with transducers, thermostats and electrical control circuit, factory pre- pockaged in the integral condenser control box. The transducer shalt automatically sense the highest head pressure of either operating compressor and control the variable speed fon on the air cooled condenser to properly maintain the head pressure. The fon speed control system shall provide positive start -up and operation in ambient temperature as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit. The air cooled condenser shall have a 208 volt, 3 ph 60 Hz power supply. 2.6.4.2 Air Cooled Condenser Disconnect Switch Provide a disconnect switch factory mounted and wired to the condenser control panel, accessible from the exterior. 2.7 The computer room environmental control system shall be equipped with the following components. Disconnect Switch Non - Locking Type The non - automatic molded case circuit breaker shall be mounted in the high voltage section of the electrical panel. The switch shall be accessible with the door closed. Condensate Pump The condensate pump shall have the capacity of 145 GPH at 20 ft. head. It shall be complete with integral float switch, pump and motor assembly, and reservoir. Floor Stand Provide optional floor stand under unit. 3.0 EXECUTION 3.1 Installation of Computer -Room Air Conditioning Units 3.1.1 General Install computer room air conditioning units in accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions. Install units plumb and level, firmly anchored in locations indicated, and maintain manufacturer's recommended clearances. 3.1.2 Electrical Wiring Install and connect electrical devices furnished by manufacturer but not specified to be factory mounted. Furnish copy of manufacturer's electrical connection diagram submittal to electrical contractor. 3.1.3 Piping Connections Install and connect devices furnished by manufacturer but not specified to be factory mounted. Furnish copy of manufacturer's piping connection diagram submittal to piping contractor. 3.2 Field Quality Control The system shall be check test and Started by the local manufactures representive in accordance with manufacturer's start up instructions. Test controls and demonstrate compliance with requirements. Warranty The system shall include a complete one year parts and labor warranty from dote of start up. The labor warranty shall be provided by the local manufactures representive. The dual semi hermetic compressors shall include a rive year ports warranty.
