Carmel campus Hi Kevin, The signs are unobtrusive, nicely designed and I'm sure will help with wayfinding. Two variances will be required. One for sign size and one for sign height (25.07.01-03 e)). Only 3 sq.ft. and 3 ft.tall is allowed. These requests could go to the BZA Hearing Officer. The next meeting you could attend is March 26th.The public notice deadline, fees and packets would all be due on March 16th. If this is too soon, the next meeting is April 23`d.The deadline is April 13th. Here is a link to the calendar for all the dates. Here is a link to the application. Please turn this in at your earliest convenience. Please provide a drawing/map showing where all the signs are proposed to go. Please also confirm if other directional signs are already installed on the site and/or if they will be replaced by these signs. No other approvals after BZA will be required. I will just update the sign permit file with these drawings and a copy of the Letter of Grant. I do not think getting approval will be an issue.Since the property is zoned residential, we can go with those fees: $154 for the first variance+$91.50 for the second. Grand total: $245.50. Please make the check payable to the City of Carmel. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Carmel campus Rachel: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel wishes to establish private traffic directional signs on its campus to aid in safe and efficient on- site vehicular traffic circulation. Their preferred sign design is attached. While the Carmel Sign Ordinance lists this type 2 • • of sign as exempt, the proposed signage exceeds the maximum sign area and the maximum sign height as included in the definition for"Sign,Traffic Directional" in the Carmel ordinance. Paul Reis and I would like to speak with you about this in order to gain your insights and direction as to process and timeline for the variance process. Would you be available at 10 a.m.tomorrow,Tuesday, March 6 to accept our call? If this time is not convenient for your calendar, then please suggest a couple of alternative days/times in the near future when we might discuss this with you.
