The applicant seeks approval to place two new ground signs and new directional signs at the site.
The site is located at 382 Arbor Dr and is zoned M-3. It is not located within any Overlay Zone.
Filed by David Gilman on behalf of Indianapolis Signworks and the owner.
Petitioner, please note the following:
1. This Item will not be on an agenda of the Technical Advisory Committee.
2. Mailed and Published Public Notice does not need to occur.
3. Proof of Notice is not needed.
4. The Filing Fee and Eight (8) Information packets must be delivered to Plan Commission Secretary, Ramona
Hancock, no later than 12:00 PM, Friday, March 16, 2012. If filing fee and materials are not delivered by this
time, this application will be continued to the Thursday, May 1, 2012 meeting.
5. Please include the following in your packet (stapled):
a) Pages 1-2 of your ADLS Amendment application
b) Site plan showing where all the signs will go on the property(please note it must be installed a minimum
of 5' back from the street right-of-way for a ground sign)
c) Illustration showing what the sign will look like on the site
d) Color drawing of the sign with dimensions, materials and height
e) Landscape plan (or photo of existing landscape bed), if applicable
f) Lighting plan, if applicable
6. This Item will appear on the Thursday, March 29, 2012 agenda of the Plan Commission Special Studies
Committee at 6:00 pm in the Caucus Room, Second Floor, City Hall. Please have a representative attend to
present your request.
7. After approval, sign permits will also be required before the signs can be installed. Here is a link to the sign
permit application. Please have this ready to be turned in after your Plan Commission Committee approval is
granted.
8. Petitioner, please provide more information on the following:
a) The proposed Leasing Center sign is too large.There is no place in the Sign Ordinance that specifically
allows a leasing center to have its own sign. Please reduce the size of the sign to 3 sq.ft. or less to be
considered exempt and allowed.
b) Please specify the lighting style for the main ground entrance signs. Will "Lakes" be backlit?The
Department would prefer to see the cabinet only light the letters,and have the background opaque.
c) Please provide the landscaping details when you receive them.
d) Please confirm the location of the Leasing Center hours sign.
e) Please confirm the 25'setback location for the main signs is from the edge of the curb, and not the
edge of the right of way.
