HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes PC Executive Committee 04-17-12 /G\��oFCARhi�\ `4�hCNIRc �\ . .fie City of \INDIANA-i" CARMEL PLAN COMMISSION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING APRIL 17, 2012 CAUCUS ROOMS OF CITY HALL ONE CIVIC SQUARE CARMEL IN 46032 5:45 PM Members in Attendance: Jay Dorman, Brad Grabow, Kevin"Woody"Rider'; Steve Stromquist DOCS Staff in Attendance: Director Michael Hollibaugh; Angie Conn; Legal Counsel John Molitor Also Present: Ramona Hancock, Plan Commission Secretary Item for Discussion: Appointment of Hearing Officers for the Carmel Board of Zoning Appeals According to Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 30, Board of Zoning Appeals, the BZA hearing officer must either be a current member of the Board or an attorney. Suggestion was made and discussion ensued to allow former members of the Board of Zoning Appeals as well as current members of the Board to function as Hearing Officers; this could be accomplished by simply amending the Ordinance—appropriate language could be included in the Patch Ordinance.- The Committee voted unanimously to recommend that the Plan Commission include.language in the proposed Patch Ordinance that a Hearing Officer may be a current member of the Board or a past member of the Board.
