Hi,Jill-
Here is the response from the City Engineering Dept.: "We have reviewed the plans submitted for this project.
Everything generally looks consistent with what Gary had previously recommended to the property owner. We would,
however, like to verify that the pavement starts at least 2 feet from the property line (though it appears there will be 2 feet,
it is not completely clear on the drawing). Also, the property owner needs to verify with the Building Department(571-
2444) if there is a certain amount of fall required away from a building(to protect from flooding)."
Also, about the bike racks, we think it was the Carmel Redevelopment Commission that offered up those bike racks. I
have an email in with Matt Worthley, but if you want to contact him, too, that would be good. His email is
mworthley @carmel.in.gov and his number is 571-2788.

I sent comments on Salisbury 's recommendations on the pergola did you not get them? See below... if this
would work it would save me a lot of$ in revising the plans,
he said these are both very standard practices for this situation. please advise ASAP! Thanks

Jill,
There are two options for the pergola posts if you don't want them to technically have a foundation.
The first would be to attach the post to the concrete once it is poured with L brackets. The second
would be to incorporate the pergola posts into the fence posts.

We will remove the bicycle rack that is currently in place today. When we remodeled the store four years
ago,the city graciously offered to put a few bicycle racks in front of our store. Can you let me know if there
is still an interest to do this?
4. To make sure there is adequate parking, please submit to us the number of employees in the largest shift plus the
total number of patron seats you will have indoor&outdoor.
The largest shift will have 3 employees. We expect to accommodate seating for 20 patrons in total. The
parking on the property is adequate to accommodate 19 v ehicles(including one space created by the cut
out in the curb toward the front of the property)
5. Note:The City Forestry Dept. is okay with the proposed landscaping.

6. DOCS has contacted the City Engineering Dept.to verify that the proposed new concrete areas are acceptable in
regards to overall site drainage, and is waiting for a response.
OK-let us know when you hear back from them.
7. Will the new proposed concrete be pervious concrete? (The maximum lot cover percentage requirement is 70%,
and pervious concrete (or pavers)would help mitigate the concern about exceeding the maximum lot coverage.)
Our current plan is to pour standard concrete to match the front of the store. We will slope the concrete in
order to provide adequate drainage to the rear of the property and will put in place a patch of artificial turf
over aggregate toward the rear of the property to allow the drainage to be partially absorbed and to flow
more evenly onto the parking surface(per the advice from the city engineer).
8. Please work with Rachel Boone,Sign Permits Officer, to resolve the roof sign issue.
I will contact Rachel directly.
Please feel free to call me on my cell if you should have any questions. My number is 25 8-5455.
