Refer any discrepancies to Architect for clarification. 2.The Contractor is responsible for visiting site to become familiar with existing conditions. Demolition drawings and notes are a reference to aid the Contractor in the evaluation of the extent of the demolition, but shall not be considered to be all inclusive. 3. The contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary demolition and building permits. 4. The contractor shall coordinate with all other trades, utility companies, and agencies having jurisdiction over this project to complete the site demolition as noted, shown or specified throughout the plans and specifications. 5. If hazardous materials are uncovered at any time during demolition or construction, the Architect shall be notified immediately. All hazardous materials shall be removed by the Owner, at Owner's expense under a separate contract. 6. The Contractor shall remove and /or demolish items indicated to be demolished on the plans. Demolished items shall be removed from the site immediately by the contractor unless noted otherwise. 1. The Contractor shall be responsible for demoli- tion required for the installation of new work whether or not it is specifically noted on the drawings. S. The Contractor shall coordinate all existing utility lines to be capped from the site installa- tion of new work whether or not it is specifically noted on the drawings. 9. The Contractor shall verify the location of all existing utilities and underground conduits, chases and soil conditions prior to commencing demolition and /or construction. GENERAL NOTES 1. The Contractor is responsible for verifying all dimensions and conditions at job site and for coordinating the structurai, Mechanical, and electrical requirements prior to commencement of construction. 2. The Contractor shall protect area, and new or existing materials and finishes from damage which may occur from construction, demolition, dust, water, etc. Damage to the new and existing materials, finishes, structures, and equipment shall be repaired or replaced tc the satisfaction of the Owner at the Contractor's expense. 3. The Contractor shall be responsible for protect- ing from paint, all surfaces not to receive paint. These surfaces shall include, but are not limited to: floors, ceilings, door hardware, frames and glass. The Contractor shah clean or replace any such surface defaced or damaged at Contractor's expense. 4. The Contractor shall repair ail damaged surfaces to match adjacent surfaces and insure tight joints all around. 5. The Contractor shall not scale drawings except For referencet dimensions governs large scale details govern. 6. The Contractor shall submit shop drawings as requested for fabricated items= cuts of all fixtures and equipment, and samples of all finishes called for to the Architect for approval prior to installation. 1. The Contractor shall provide all necessary blocking, backing, framing, hangers, or other support for all fixtures, cabinetry, equipment, furnishings and all other items requiring the same. 6. The Construction Documents are provided to illustrate the design and general type of construction, material, and workmanship through- out. The Contractor, in assuming responsibility For the work indicated, shall comply with the spirit and the letter in which they were written. 9. The Contractor shall remove all rubbish and waste materials on a regular basis, and shall exercise strict control to prevent any dirt or debris from affecting finished areas of the job site.
