ALL WORK FOR T41S PROJECT SHALL CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF ALL
APPLICABLE CODES AND AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION.
THE CONTRACTORS SHALL:
REVIEW THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS OF ALL TRADES TO FULLY INFORM THEMSELVES
OF THE SCOPE OF THE WORK REQUIRED FOR THIS PROJECT
ARRANGE TO VISIT THE PROJECT S17F BEFORE SUBMITTING THEIR BID ON THE PROJECT.
THE CONTRACTORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PLACING THEIR OWN INTERPRETATION ON
EXISTING COND177ONS AND LIMITATIONS.
PROVIDE AND INSTALL ACCESS PANELS AND DOORS AS REQUIRED TO ALLOW PROPER
ACCESS TO MECHANICAL WORK.
REMOVE ALL RUBBISH AND WASTE FROM THE PROJECT S1 TE AS IT IS GENERA TED (AT
LEAST DAILY).
PROVIDE ALL CUTTING AND PATCHING NECESSARY FOR THE INSTALLATION OF
MECHANICAL WORK. CUTTING OF STRUCTURAL MEMBERS SHALL NOT PROCEED
WI THOUT THE WRI TTEN AUTHORIZA T/ON OF THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER.
OBTAIN AND PAY FOR (AS A PART OF THE QUOTED PRICE FOR THE WORK) ALL
NECESSARY PERMITS, LICENSES AND FEES.
GUARANTEE ALL NEW MA7ERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATION FROM ALL
DEFECTS IN WORKMANSHIP AND /OR MATERIALS FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR,
BEGINNING W17H THE DATE OF PROJECT SUBS TAN77AL COMPLETION. EQUIPMENT
MANUFACTURERS WARRANTIES SHALL BE EXTENDED AS NECESSARY TO FULFILL THIS
REQUIREMENT.
SUBMIT SIX COPIES OF SHOP DRAWINGS FOR ENGINEERS REVIEW. SHOP DRAWINGS
SHALL BE SUBMITTED ON EQUIPMENT, RTU, ELECTRIC HEATERS, HUMIDIFIERS, GRILLES,
REGISTERS, DIFFUSERS, VALVES, DUCTWORK, TEMPERATURE CONTROLS, ETC..
COORDINA IF THE INSTALLATION OF MECHANICAL WORK WT TH THE WORK OF ALL
OTHER TRADES 774E DRAWINGS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC IN NATURE AND ARE NOT
INTENDED TO INDICATE ALL OFFSETS AND FITTINGS THAT MAY BE REQUIRED TO
COMPLETE THE PROPER INSTALLATION OF ALL SYSTEMS SHOWN. IT 1S 7HE

BASIC MATERIALS AND METHODS
MARK ALL NEW PIPING SYSTEMS WITH SETMARK" IDEN77F /ES (SETON CORPORATION)
PIPING SHALL BE MARKED ON EACH SIDE OF EACH WALL PENETRATION AND
AT 20 FOOT INTERVALS WITHIN A ROOM.
TAG ALL NEW VALVES WITH A BRASS TAG ATTACHED TO THE VALVE W/TH A NYLON
DRAW BAND. VA VE /DENT/FICA RON SYSTEM SHALL BE AS APPROVED BY THE OWNER
BEFORE INSTALLATION. PROVIDE A REDUCED SCALE PLAN TO THE OWNER /NDICA77NG
THE LOCATION OF EACH VALVE, SIZE, SERVICE, ETC. (INCLUDE EXISTING VALVES
WHERE APPROPRIATE TO THE NEW SYSTEMS). NUMBER ALL VALVES SEQUENTIALLY
AND LIST THE APPLICABLE SERVICE.

REFRIGERANT SUCTION LINES ARE TO BE COVERED WITH 112" THICK ARMAFLEX.
ALL CONCEALED INTERIOR DUCTS -ARE TO BE INSULATED WITH 2" THICK FIBERGLAS
WITH FRK FACING, 314 POUND PER CUBIC FOOT DENSITY. WELD IMPALING PINS TO BOTTOM
OF DUCTS SO SUPPORT IS AT 12" CENTERS IN ALL DIRECTIONS SECURE INSULATION
TO 774ESE PINS WI TH APPROPRIA TE FASTENERS.

COPPER TUBING — ASTM B 280, TYPE ACR, HARD —DRAWN STRAIGHT LENGTHS,
AND SOFT— ANNEALED COILS, SEAMLESS COPPER TUBING. TUBING SHALL BE FACTORY CLEANED, READY FOR
INSTALLATION, AND HAVE ENDS CAPPED TO PR07ECT CLEANLINESS OF PIPE INTERIORS PRIOR TO SHIPPING.

VACUUM DEN YDRARON INDICATOR.
DURING EVACUATION, APPLY HEAT TO POCKETS, ELBOWS, AND LOW SPOTS IN PIPING.
MAINTAIN VACUUM ON SYSTEM FOR MINIMUM OF 5 HOURS AFTER CLOSING VALVE
BETWEEN VACUUM PUMP AND SYSTEM.
BREAK VACUUM WITH REFRIGERANT GAS, ALLOW PRESSURE TO BUILD UP TO 2 PSI,
COMPLETE CHARGING OF SYSTEM, USING NEW FILTER DRYER CORE IN CHARGING LINE.
PROVIDE FULL OPERA 77NG CHARGE.
PROVIDE AND INSTALL ADJUSTABLE COPPER PLA7ED CLEWS HANGERS FOR ALL
HORIZONTAL RUNS OF COPPER PIPING. SUPPORT EACH PIPE ON MAXIMUM 8'— 0"
CENTERS WITH A MINIMUM 3/8" HANGER ROD. MULTIPLE PIPING RUNS MAY BE
ACCOMMODA TED WI TH APPROPRIA TE TRAPEZE HANGERS A T THE CONTRACTORS
DISCRETION.
ALL PIPING SHALL BE CONCEALED ABOVE CEILINGS, IN WALLS, IN CHASES, ETC.,
UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED TO THE CONTRARY ON THE DRAWINGS.

ALL NEW DUCTWORK SHALL BE GALVANIZED SHEET STEEL CONFORMING TO
ANSI /ASTM A 527, LOCKFORM/NG QUALITY AND ANSI /ASTM A 525, G90 ZINC COATING.
DUCT SEALANT.- NONHARDEN/NG, NONMIGRA TING MASTIC OR LIQUID ELASTIC
SEALANT (TYPE APPLICABLE FOR FABRICA TION //NSTALLA T70N DETAIL) AS
COMPOUNDED AND RECOMMENDED BY MANUFACTURER SPECIFICALLY FOR SEALING
JOINTS AND SEAMS IN DUCTWORK.
DUCT CEMENT- NONHARDEN/NG MIGRATING MASTIC OR LIQUID NEOPRENE BASED
CEMENT (TYPE APPLICABLE FOR FABRICA 770NIINSTALLA 77ON DETAIL) AS
COMPOUNDED AND RECOMMENDED BY MANUFACTURER SPECIFICALLY FOR
CEMEN77NG FITTING COMPONENTS, OR LONGITUDINAL SEAMS IN DUCTWORK.
FABRICATE DUCT TRANS/BONS TO MA TCH ADJOINING EQUIPMENT AND TO COMPLY
WITH DUCT REQUIREMENTS AS APPLICABLE TO FITTINGS. LIMIT ANGULAR TAPERS TO
30 DEGREES FOR EXPANDING TAPERS.
INSTALL A BALANCE DAMPER AT EACH DUCT BRANCH TAKE —OFF ON EACH DUCT
SYSTEM. PROVIDE LOCKING QUADRANT, EXTENDED AS NECESSARY FOR DUCT
INSULATION.
CONSTRUCT AND SUPPORT ALL NEW DUCTWORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH SMACNA
STANDARDS FOR LOW PRESSURE DUCTWORK.
INSULA TED FLEXIBLE DUCT SHALL BE USED AT THE FINAL CONNECTION TO
DIFFUSERS FLEXIBLE DUCT SHALL BE LIMITED TO A MAXIMUM LENGTH
OF 5' -0" AND A TOTAL OF 90 DEGREES IN TURNS (AT EACH LOCATION).

DURING OCCUPIED CYCLE, THE SUPPLY AIR FAN SHALL BE ON AND THE MINIMUM OUTSIDE
AIR DAMPER SHALL BE OPEN. STAGES OF COOLING SHALL BE ENERGIZED AND HOT GAS BYPASS
VALVE SHALL MODULA TE TO MAINTAIN 55' DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERA TURF.
DURING UNOCCUPIED CYCLE, THE SUPPLY AIR FAN SHALL BE OFF AND THE MINIMUM OUTSIDE
AIR DAMPER SHALL BE CLOSED. IF THE TEMPERATURE AT THE NIGHT SETBACK THERMOSTAT
DROPS TO NIGHT SETBACK TEMPERATURE OF 60; THE SUPPLY AIR FAN SHALL START,
ANO ENABLE THE DUCT COILS TO MAINTAIN NIGHT SETBACK TEMPERATURE.
FAN COIL UNITS
FAN COIL UNITS SHALL BE CONTROLLED BY EXISI RIG, RELOCATED WALL MOUNTED THERMOSTATS.
WHERE AN OUTSIDE AIR DUCT ANO MOTORIZED DAMPER ARE INDICATED, THE DAMPER SHALL OPEN
