The applicant seeks approval for wall signage. The site is located at 13295 Meridian
Comers. The site. is zoned B-5/Business within the US 31 Overlay.

The applicant is requesting ADLS Amendment approval of wall signage. Wall signage was
approved for the subject building at the time of the original ADLS. Please see the last page of
the information packet. It illustrates the approved sign style and location of the building.
The Department has the following concerns:
1. The building has no frontage on Illinois street. A variance would be required to allow a
sign on the west elevation as proposed. The Department would not support variance
relief to allow a wall sign on this elevation as the sign would be directly visible :trom the
adjoining neighborhood to the west. The Department recommends that the committee
deny that proposed sign design.
2. The sign design as proposed with the logo exceeds the allowable 25% of sign area for the
logo. This should be revised to meet the ordinance. An acceptable alternative would be
to deduce the logo size and have one line of text with the logo to the left.
If the applicant does not present acceptable sign alternatives at the meeting the Department
would ask the Committee to table the request.
The Department recommends that the Special Studies Committee approve the request after
all comments and concerns have been addressed.
Note: The item only requires approval by the Special Studies Committee.
