0.1 THE GENERAL CONDITIONS SHALL BEAIA DOCUMENTA201-1997 EDITION,
ENTITLED "GENERAL CONDITIONS OF THE CONTRACT FOR
CONSTRUCTION". THIS DOCUMENT MAY BE OBSERVED IN THE OFFICE OF
THEARCHITECT INCLUDED IN THE GENERAL CONDITIONSARE
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTRACTOR WHICH MAY BE PARAPHRASED

1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

WHENEVER POSSIBLE. WORK INVOLVING OVERTIME, NON-REGULAR
BUSINESS HOURS SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH BUILDING MANAGEMENT

1.5 TEMPORARY UTILITIES, INCLUDING WATER, SANITARY FACILITIES,

POWER WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE OWNER, SUBJECTTO THE OWNER OR
THE OWNER'SAGENT'S DIRECTION. COMPLY WITH SPECIFIC BUILDING
CONSTRUCTION RULES PUBLISHED BY THE OWNER OR THE OWNER'S
AGENT
1.6 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT THE BUILDING PREMISESAND
OCCUPANTS ON THE PROJECT SITE FROM DAMAGE. THE CONTRACTOR
SHALL PROVIDEAND MAINTAIN NECESSARY COVERINGS, BOARDS,
TEMPORARY PARTITIONS, AND DOORSAS REQUIRED TO PROTECT
EXISTING WORK, MATERIALS,AND FINISHES TO REMAINATTHE JOB SITE.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES
ATTRIBUTABLE TO HIS OPERATION, REPAIRS, OR REPLACEMENT WITHOUT
ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO THE PARTYAFFECTED.
1.7 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN FOR THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF HIS

PERFORM FINAL CLEANING, EMPLOYING EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL
CLEANERS. CLEAN EACH SURFACE OR UNIT OF WORK TO THE CONDITION
EXPECTED FROMACOMMERCIAL BUILDING CLEANINGAND MAINTENANCE
PROGRAM INACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS.
PROVIDE OPERATINGAND MAINTENANCE MANUALS WITH INFORMATION
NECESSARY FOR THE SAFEAND EFFICIENT OPERATION AND
MAINTENANCE OF EQUIPMENTAND OPERATING SYSTEMS CALLED FOR IN
THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, AND INFORMATION RELATIVE TO THE
INSPECTION, CAREAND MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR OFARCHITECTURAL
PRODUCTSAND FINISHES WHICHARE OTHER THAN BUILDING STANDARD.
DEMOLITION
COORDINATE DEMOLITION WITH CONSTRUCTION PLANS TO DETERMINE
EXTENT OF WORK. PROVIDE DEMOLITION SUFFICIENT FOR SUITABLE
BONDINGIPATCHING OF EXISTING CONSTRUCTION TO REMAIN WITH NEW
WORK.
WHERE WORK INCLUDES REMOVAL OF EXISTING CONSTRUCTION OR
EQUIPMENT, OR REMOVALAND PATCHING, REMOVALAND REPLACEMENT,
OR REMOVALAND RELOCATION, SURFACES LEFT EXPOSED IN RELATION
TO SUCH WORK SHALL HAVEANY EXCESS MATERIALS REMOVED, AND
SURFACES SHALL BE PREPPEDAND FINISHED TO MATCH EXISTING
ADJACENT SURFACES, INCLUDING WITH REGARD TO MATERIALSAND
WORKMANSHIP ADJACENT ITEMS SHALL BE REMOVEDAND RELOCATED
TOALLOWSUCH WORK. NO CHANGE ORDER WILL BE ISSUED FOR

ON EXISTING-CONSTRUCTION-TO-REMAIN, THOROUGHLY REMOVE
ADHESIVE RESULTING FROM THE REMOVAL OF SURFACEAPPLIED
FINISHES, INCLUDING VINYL BASE, CARPETTILES, ETC. CHEMICALSAND
METHODS TO REMOVE THEADHESIVE SHALL BE COMPATIBLE WITH NEW
