FILL SHALL BE PLACED IN 12 INCH LIFTS AND EACH LAYER SHALL
BE COMPACTED BY MECHANICAL MEANS TO AT LEAST 95% OF ITS
MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY. HOWEVER, GRANULAR BACKFILL MAY BE
PLACED IN 24 INCH LIFTS PROVIDED EACH LAYERR IS COMPACTED
BY A COMBINATION OF SATURATION AND MECHANICAL MEANS TO
AT LEAST 95% OF ITS MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY.
