Contractor shall check with Engineer prior to start of construction to verify date of plans. Minor changes may be made if all reviewing agency approvals are not granted before.biddtng. Changes In cost shall be negotiated prior to physical construction based on unit prices submitted on the contract documents. 2. The Contractor shall contact all utility companies to locate all mains, conduits, services lines, etc. In the construction affected area. Existing utility structures are shown here In accordance with available Information. The location and protection of utility structures and facilities, their support and maintenance during construction (in accordance with applicable utility), is the express responsibility of the Contractor In the performance of the Contract and In the preparation of the bid. 3. All telephone and electrical services shall be underground. See mechanical plans by Mechanical Engineer for location of telephone and electrical services. 4. Backfill around all structures and In all trenches beneath paved areas with granular material. Where the top of pipe Iles less than one foot below subgrade in a paved area, the pipe shall be encased with six inches of concrete. 5. All tree stumps, masonry and other obstructions shall be removed to a minimum depth of two feet. Topsoil shall be stripped full depth under all building sites and paved areas. All depressions left by the removal of stumps, septic system, etc. shall be filled with suitable material. As a base to receive fill material, ground shall be scarified or disked and compacted. 6. Excess shall be removed from site. 7. Parking strips shall be painted on asphalt with ISHC approved highway paint by others. 8. Top of curbs shall be six Inches above asphalt surface except where noted otherwise. 9. Concrete sidewalks shall have transverse joints at four foot intervals with expansion joints at 48 foot (maximum) Intervals. All concrete, Including post settings, shall be a minimum of 5 -1/2 bag, 3500 p.s.i. 10. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all State, City and County permits. 11. The Contractor shall be required to furnish the Engineer with a set of prints, marked in red, showing actual as constructed situation; to include locations, depths and lengths. Such "as built" prints must be received by the Engineer before the final contract payment can be authorized. 12. The Contractor shall be reimbursed for any additional labor and /or materials arising from the changes other then minor adjustments to manholes authorized by the Engineer. Reimbursement will be in accordance with unit prices submitted by the Contractor on the contract documents. 15. Prior to mulching, treat ail planting areas with pre- emergent weed killer, applied according to the manufactures's direction, "TrefIan" or equal. 3. Provide mulch 2" deep over the entire planting area surface (shredded bark product). 4. The contractor (at his expense) shall replace any dead or unacceptable plants, for a period of one year from date of acce tance of the project by the Public Storage representative. 5.
