HomeMy WebLinkAbout06080101.18IL I IF IE C Ic IB IA RTU -1 AIR HANDLING UNIT CONTROL SEQUENCE THE AIR HANDLING UNIT (AHU) SUPPLY FAN SHALL BE STARTED AND STOPPED THROUGH A HAND -OFF -AUTO SWITCH. WHEN THE SWITCH IS IN THE AUTO MODE, THE UNIT SHALL START AND STOP ACCORDING TO AN ADJUSTABLE TIME SCHEDULE BY THE BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEM (BAS) WITH AN INTERFACE PANEL LOCATED IN THE BUILDING. UPON "START" COMMAND, THE CONTROL SYSTEM SHALL BE ACTIVATED, THE OUTSIDE AIR DAMPER WILL OPEN AND INTERLOCKED EXHAUST FANS SHALL START. WHEN CONFIRMED OPEN, THE SUPPLY AIR FAN WILL START AND RUN CONTINUOUSLY. DAMPERS THAT FAIL TO OPEN SHALL BE INDICATED BY ALARM. INTERLOCKED FANS THAT FAIL TO START SHALL BE INDICATED BY ALARM. DUCT MOUNTED REHEAT COILS SHALL BE TIED IN TO THE ON BOARD CONTROLLER. SPACE TEMPERATURE CONTROL SHALL BE WITH WALL MOUNTED THERMOSTATS. A DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR SHALL MODULATE THE AHU COMPRESSORS TO MAINTAIN SET -POINT (ADJUSTABLE) TEMPERATURE. THE DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERATURE SHALL BE RESET FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION BASED ON FEEDBACK FROM SYSTEM REHEAT COIL THERMOSTATS. HOWEVER, HUMIDITY SENSORS IN THE DISCHARGE AIR SHALL LOAD COMPRESSORS TO MAINTAIN HUMIDITY CONTROL (ADJUSTABLE). "EVAPORATOR DEFROST" OR EQUIVALENT SHALL ALLOW OPERATION AT LOW CAPACITY. FILTER PRESSURE DROP SHALL BE MEASURED AND ALARM THE CONTROL SYSTEM IF THE DROP IS EXCESSIVE (ADJUSTABLE). WHEN THE UNIT IS OFF, THE FOLLOWING SHALL OCCUR: A. OUTSIDE AIR DAMPERS SHALL CLOSE. B. THE SUPPLY FAN SHALL STOP. C. THE CONTROL SYSTEM SHALL BE DE- ENERGIZED. D. INTERLOCKED EXHAUST FANS SHALL STOP. E. ALL OUTPUTS SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH LOCAL /REMOTE SWITCHES AND ON /OFF PUSHBUTTONS OR GRADUAL SWITCHES TO FACILITATE TROUBLESHOOTING.
