ARCHITECTURAL GENERAL NOTES
1) Any deviation from these plans without prior
approval of the Architect shall be cause for
rejection of materials and /or methods and
any cost incurred to correct such deviation to
the satisfaction of the Architect shall be borne
by each Contractor.
2)Trade names ore given to clarify type of
product and quality desired. Substitutions
maybe made pending approval of the Architect.
3) Any and all penetrations shall receive
caulking to seal any type of energy loss and
or to maintain rated partitions.
4) Conform cil construction to the International
Building Code and rules and regulations of the
state of Indiana and current county codes. If
such rules and regulations ore in conflict with
any portion of these documents, the Architect
sholl be informed before proceeding.

7) Any 2x6 studs used shall be spaced not
more than 24" on center.
8) Layout joist and studs to avoid conflicts
with plumbing lines but do not exceed 16" on

10) All construction permits shall be obtained
by the General Contractor and Sub - contractors
at their expense prior to the beginning of any
work.
11) Any cost incurred due to lack of
cooperation between trades shall be borne by
each sub - contractor.
12) All finishes and colors ore to be selected
by the architect and coordinated with General
Contractor.
13) The Contractor is to verify and coordinate
ail applicable dimensions of fixtures and
equipment supplied and /or installed by others.
14) Architect to select all light fixtures and
coordinate location and switching with Electrical
and General Contractors.
15) Architect to select all plumbing fixture
types and colors and coordinate with Plumbing
and General Contractors,
16) Provide wood blocking for anchorage of all
curtain rods, shower rods, handrails, toilet
paper holders and towel rods.

17) Contractors shall protect all permanent
reference monuments and take all precautions
necessary to advoid survey markers during
construction.
18) All unsuitable building area material such
as muck, marl and debris shall be removed
from the limits of construction through the
duration of the project.
19) Contractor shall be responsiable for the
protection of all existing underground utilities,
whether indicated or not on the drawings.
Notify all utility companies involved prior to
start of any construction.
20) Roof decking to be s /8" COX exterior
plywood, glued and nailed.
21) Provide "X" bridging between all floor
joists. If TRUSJOIST are used, place "X"
bridging only at perpendicular bearing partitions.

22) These plans and specifications do not
address safety. It is the responsiblity of
whoever uses these documents to consult and
establish appropriate safety and health practice
and determine the applicability of regulatory
limitations proir to use.
23) Coordinate installation of TV and phone
locations with the proper discipline.
24) All walls are to have batt fiberglass
insulation installed full dept and height.
25) No Contractor, Sub - contractor or
sub - sub- controctor is to start there work until
they have first examined the exsisting
conditions. If for any reason a perfect job is
not possible, it shall immediately be reported
to the project superintendent and owner before
proceeding with the work.
26) Trades shall furnish all labor, materials and
equipment and services required to perform all
work necessary, indicated, reasonably inferred
or required by any code with jurisdiction to
complete their scope of work for a complete
and properly furnished job.

27) Bidders prior to submittal of bids shall
thouroghly familiarize themselves with the
Architect's plans and shall notify the Architect
of any discrepancy, omission, clarification or
any information necessary for completion of
their scope of work. Any item not covered, not
shown in drawings, not questioned or not
clarified prior to bidding that is necessary for
proper execution and completion of any scope
of work shall be provided by the Bidding
Contractor at their own expense.
28) The General Contractor shall be
responsible for the accuracy of the building
lines and levels and keeping the structure in
square. The General Contractor shall compare
carefully the lines and levels shown on the
drawings with existing levels for the
construction of the work. They shall coil to the
Owner's attention to any discrepancies before
proceeding with any required correction and the
work.
29) Dimensions shown on plans and details are
to face of stud walls, centerlines of piers/
columns, face of masonry and face of
concrete, unless otherwise noted. Written
dimensions shall take precedence over scaled
dimensions.
30) Contractors prior to bidding shall
guarantee that all their Sub - bidders or
Sub- contractors shall be given complete full
sets of plans to ensure that they have
included all items necessary to complete their
work. Any item missed by these
Sub - contractors in their bid shall be obsored
by the Contractor at their own expense and in
no way will effect any additional cost over and
above the final bid.
31) Weatherstripping, caulking Grid/ or sealants
must be used to limit filtration in the building
envelope at the following locations. with
- Exterior joints around windows and door
frames. .
- Between wall sole plates and floors.
- Between exterior wall panels.
- Pentrations in walls, ceilings and floors for
plumbing, electrical, telephone, television and
gas lines.
- Openings in attic floors.
- All other openings in the building envelope.
32) All doors and windows are to meet all
applicable A.N.S.I. or N.W.M.A. standards and
shall be labeled where indiacated.
