AA SHREDDED HARDWOOD MULCH. MULCH SHALL BE APPROVED
BY LOWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE AND SHALL BE UNIFORM IN
TEXTURE AND COLOR. NO ARTIFICIAL, STAINED, DYED, CYPRESS,

OPERATIONS ARE TO PROCEED. ALL TREE LOCATIONS SHALL BE
MARKED WITH A WOOD STAKE INDICATING VARIETY AND SIZE OF
TREE. ALL STAKES SHALL BE REMOVED FOLLOWING PLANTING
OPERATIONS. OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO
ADJUST PLANT LOCATIONS ON SITE.
5. NO SUBSTITUTIONS OF PLANT MATERIALS WILL BE ALLOWED. IF
PLANTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY
OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE WRITING. ALL PLANTS SHALL BE
INSPECTED AND TAGGED WITH PROJECT I.D. AT NURSERY OR
CONTRACTORS OPERATIONS PRIOR TO MOVING TO JOB SITE.
PLANTS MAY BE INSPECTED AND APPROVED OR REJECTED ON THE
JOB SITE BY OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE.
6. ALL PLANTS SHALL MEET OR EXCEED INDIANA NURSERYMEN'S
ASSOCIATION, AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF NURSERYMEN'S
AMERICAN STANDARD FOR NURSERY STOCK, AND FEDERAL
SPECIFICATIONS Q -F -241 D AND A- P -166E.
7. PLANTS AND ALL OTHER MATERIALS TO BE STORED ON SITE WILL
BE PLACED WHERE THEY WILL NOT CONFLICT W/ CONSTRUCTION
OPERATIONS OR AS DIRECTED BY OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE.
8. ALL LANDSCAPE PLANTINGS SHALL BE GUARANTEED FOR A
PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FOLLOWING FINAL INSPECTION BY
OWNER. AT THE END OF THIS PERIOD, PLANT MATERIAL TERMED
DEAD OR UNSATISFACTORY BY OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE SHALL
BE REPLACED AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE BY THE LANDSCAPE
CONTRACTOR.

9. LAWNS SHALL BE SODDED FOLLOWING SCARIFYING, FINAL
GRADING, FERTILIZING, AND RAKING. LAWN SHALL BE FERTILIZED
W/ 13 -13 -13 ANALYSIS FERT. AT A RATE OF 25lbs. /1000 s.f. OR
AS DETERMINED BY SOILS ANALYSIS OR MANUFACTUER.
10. THE LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AND PAY FOR ALL
PERMITS AND FEES THAT MAY BE REQUIRED FOR HIS /HER PORTION
OF WORK.
11. LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY OWNER'S
REPRESENTATIVE IN WRITING PRIOR TO BID DATE OF ANY PLANTS
HE /SHE FEELS MAY NOT SURVIVE IN LOCATIONS NOTED ON
PLANS.
12. ALL DISTURBED LAWN AREAS SHALL BE SODDED. SOD TYPE SHALL
BE APPROVED BY OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE.
13. ALL LAWNS SHALL BE GUARANTEED TO HAVE A FULL UNIFORM
STAND OF ACCEPTABLE GRASS AT THE END OF THE ONE YEAR
GUARANTEE PERIOD WITH NO BARE SPOTS COMPRISING MORE
THAN 2% OF ANY LAWN AREA. ANY AREA SO NOTED WILL BE
RE- SODDED UNTIL AN ACCEPTABLE STAND OF GRASS IS
ESTABLISHED.
14. ALL LANDSCAPE PLANTINGS AND LAWNS SHALL BE MAINTAINED
BY CONTRACTOR FOR 30 DAYS MIN. FOLLOWING COMPLETE
INSTALLATION AND FINAL INSPECTION BY OWNER'S
REPRESENTATIVE AFTER WRITTEN REQUEST FROM LANDSCAPE
CONTRACTOR. MAINTENANCE SHALL INCLUDE WATERING,
WEEDING, CULTIVATING, MULCHING, MOWING, AND ALL OTHER
NECESSARY OPERATIONS REQUIRED FOR PROPER ESTABLISHMENT
OF LAWNS AND PLANTINGS.
15. ALL LAWN AREAS WITHIN LAWN LIMIT LINES TO RECEIVE 6"
APPROVED STERILIZED TOPSOIL PRIOR TO SODDING OPERATIONS.
ONCE TOPSOIL HAS BEEN PLACED, CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY OF
ANY KIND (EXCLUDING LANDSCAPING) SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED
ON OR ACROSS ANY PLANTING AREA. CONTRACTOR SHALL
FULLY EXCAVATE ANY PLANTING AREA THAT IS DISTURBED AND
REPLACE WITH APPROVED TOPSOIL.
16. BACKFILL FOR TREE /SHRUB PLANTINGS SHALL BE 75% APPROVED
TOPSOIL AND 25% APPROVED COMPOST. TOP LAYER OF
BACKFILL SHALL BE 100% OF SURROUNDING TOPSOIL. A 5 -10 -5
ANALYSIS SLOW RELEASE FERTILIZER SHALL BE INCORPORATED
