quires the attic apaces to be protected by an sutomatic fire extinguishing system
has been denied.
Please be advised that if you desire administrative review of this action, you
must file a written petition for revigw at the above address with the Fire Preven-
tion and Building Safety Commission identifying the matter for which you seek review
no later than October 20, 1987. If you do so, your petition for review will be
granted and an administrative proceeding will be conducted by an administrative law
judge of the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission. If you do not file a

It is the practice of this dlvisrnn to utilize interpretations by national
organizations vhen applying the Indiana Fire and Building Codes. In this
case, however, NFPA �13, Section 4-4.4.1 uses the vord combustible construc-
tion. While HFPA �13 does not provide a definition of combustible conatruc-
tion the 1985 Indiana Building Code does Qrovide a definitlon for non-
combustible (Ref. Section 415).
Fire retasdant treated wood does mot meet [he definition of non-
combustible and therefore must be con>>idered cambustiblea Therefcre, the
requirement that the attic space be sprinklered stands.
