RE: Sanctuary at 116th Street amenity area - Project Review #3
Dear Ms. McElroy:
The City received the site plans for this project on April 4, 2013, in response to the City's comment letter
dated November 29, 2012. We offer the following comments:
CONSTRUCTION DRAWING REVIEW COMMENTS
1. Previous comment 3 of a letter dated November 29, 2012. The plans shall be stamped by a
Professional Engineer. The Department repeats this comment.
2. Previous comment 11 of a letter dated November 29, 2012. More details are required for the
parking area. What type of pavement will be used? Improvements within the City's right -of-
way shall meet City standards. As discussed in a meeting on 511113, the parking area
shall meet City standards for a residential driveway with 6- inches of concrete
pavement.
3. Please label the locations of the sidewalks and the path on Sheet 3 (within a legend).
4. Please indicate the locations of all ADA ramps to be installed with this project on Sheet 3.
5. Please replace the City's detail for ADA ramps on Sheet 4 with the applicable INDOT
standard ADA ramp detail (the City now requires INDOT standard ADA ramps).
6. The symbols for "Existing Spot Grade" and "Proposed Spot Grade" on Sheet 5 appear to be
transposed in the legend.
7. Please add a note to the plans indicating that the path shall be installed at the same grade as
the surrounding soil to prevent any drainage issues.
GENERAL INFORMATION
8. Previous Comment 39 of a letter dated November 29, 2012, Commercial Curb Cut
Approval. Please provide 8' /z x 11 exhibits with the request for approval. Provide all
pertinent information including lane widths, overall width, radii, lane markings, location of
opposing drives or streets, relationship to the location of previous curb cut, etc. The
Department repeats this comment.
9. Previous Comment 40 of a letter dated November 29, 2012. Temporary Construction
Entrance Approval. A construction entrance is not shown on this submittal. Please indicate
the location of a construction entrance on the plans. If the construction entrance is at a
location other than that of a permanent curb cut, then Board of Public Works and
Safety approval is required for the construction entrance.
If you have questions, please contact me at 571 -2441.
Sincerely,
Gary R. can,
