HomeMy WebLinkAboutD-2131-13 Additional Appropriation $1,200,000 Street Paving SPONSOR(S): Councilor Snyder ORDINANCE D-2131-13 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FROM THE OPERATING BALANCE OF THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND AND ALLOCATING DLGF APPROPRIATION REDUCTIONS TO MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY FUND WHEREAS, the City has a duty to maintain and repair the roadways located within its corporate limits; and WHEREAS, the City Street Department requires additional funds in order to repave certain City roadways; and WHEREAS, an additional amount of One Million Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,200,000.00) is now necessary and desirable from the Local Road and Street Fund for needed street repaving; and WHEREAS, the unencumbered balance in the Local Road and Street Fund as of December 31, 2012, is currently projected to be One Million Two Hundred Thirty-Five Thousand Four Hundred Four Dollars ($1,235,404.00); and WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the operating balance of the Local Road and Street Fund to pay for such street paving. r�t s.�r NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, as follows: Section 1. The foregoing Recitals are incorporated herein by this reference. Section 2. The following additional sums of money are hereby appropriated from the Local Road and Street Fund operating balance, subject to applicable laws: Local Road and Street Fund operating balance $1,200,000.00 TO Line Item#4350200 (Street Repaving) Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, execution by the Mayor and such publication as is required by law.
