The holes are about 1 3/8 inches in diameter and are a~>out I ½ to 1% inches above the bottoms of ~e 'oists ~ile the holes are somewhat less than the 2 inches slated in the Code for distance above the bonom edg,e,, they are smaller than the 2 inch ditaneter allowed. The holes are well within the oute~ t/3 of the joist S span, The space ~¥e the area in question is a hallway to bedrooms: so the ioi~s have more dmn ample capaci~ to can5, any anticipated loads fi.om above.
