Based on the Indiana General Administrative Rules, a construction design release from the State of Indiana Department of Homeland Security is not required for the following work per Article 675 IAC 12-6-4 “Exemptions from design release requirement”. Specifically, the following is noted: 1. Architectural: GAR 675 IA 12-6-4 (b) (5) D. Construction of less and 100 lineal feet of wall and not part of an exit corridor system. 2. Electrical: GAR 675 IAC 12-6-4 (b) (3) D. Installation of branch circuits not exceeding existing capacity. 3. Mechanical: GAR 675 IAC 12-6-4 (B) We are not adding any mechanical equipment, rather modifying branch ductwork to a new ceiling grid configuration. 4. Fire protection (sprinkler): GAR 675 IAC 12-6-4 (b) (6) (i) We are altering an existing system by dropping heads to a new ceiling grid, as originally planned by the base construction. 5. Plumbing: GAR 675 IAC 12-6-4 (b) (2) (B) With the addition of only one (1) bar sink, fewer than five drainage fixture units. Notwithstanding the above, however, all work still is required to comply with the requirements of the Indiana Building Code and City of Carmel. Further, applicable permits from the City of Carmel for all work are still required. Please advise if you have any questions.
