COUNCIL CHAMBERS/CITY HALL/ONE CIVIC SQUARE MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor James Brainard, Council President Sharp, Council Members Carol Schleif, W. Eric Seidensticker, Sue Finkam, Luci Snyder, Ronald E. Carter, Kevin D. Rider, Clerk-Treasurer Diana L. Cordray and Deputy Clerk Treasurer Lois Fine. Mayor Brainard called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. Pastor Stuart Lawrence, Fellowship in Christ Church, pronounced the Invocation. Mayor Brainard led the Pledge of Allegiance. RECOGNITION OF CITY EMPLOYEES AND OUTSTANDING CITIZENS: Mayor Brainard informed the Council that the Carmel Fire Department has been recommended for accreditation. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Councilor Seidensticker made a motion to approve minutes from the June 3, 2013 Regular Meeting. Councilor Schleif seconded. There was no Council discussion. Council President Sharp called for the vote. Minutes were approved 6-0 (Councilor Carter abstained). RECOGNITION OF PERSONS WHO WISH TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL: Lisa Grove addressed the Council regarding the veto on Ordinance D-2135-13 (Electric Fences). Kathy Wallace addressed the Council regarding claims. COUNCIL, MAYORAL AND CLERK-TREASURER COMMENTS/OBSERVATIONS: Councilor Sharp addressed the Council regarding the closing of the Carmel Shapiro's Deli this past Sunday. III Councilor Snyder addressed the Council regarding the Hamilton County Humane Society. Councilor Carter informed the Council that the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church fish fry will be held this Friday and Saturday. The church is located at 111`h and Meridian. 1 Council President Sharp passed the gavel to Councilor Seidensticker to address the Council. ACTION ON MAYORAL VETOES: Ordinance D-2135-13 As Amended: An Ordinance of the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana("City"), Amending Carmel City Code Chapter 6, Article 4, Section 6-50 (Barbed Wire Fences; Electric Fences); Sponsor: Councilor Sharp. ADOPTED 6-0 ON JUNE 3, 2013 (COUNCILOR CARTER NOT PRESENT). Council President Sharp addressed the Council and referred to Assistant City Attorney Ashley Ulbright to address the Council.
