Attachment C
Evan Lurie was born in New York and raised for most of his life throughout
Europe. He is fluent in five languages. He has attended NYU Film School
and worked for eight years in the entertainment industry as an actor,
stuntman and fight chorographer. He has starred in fifteen films and written
and produced two.
He is one of four brothers along with his mother who have been in the art
business for 30 years with galleries from coast to coast. Lenore Morris
(Evan's mother) lectures on collecting fine art and art history.
Evan has been an art dealer for 10 yrs with 9 yrs as a gallery owner in Los
Angeles. He currently owns galleries in both Boca Raton and Miami Florida
with a family gallery in Los Angeles California. He also has cooperative
relationships with galleries worldwide.
Evan has exclusive representation of artists from Europe, United States,
Canada and Cuba with a broad range of styles and media from figurative to
abstract. His galleries serve the interior design industry, architects and
private collectors with a specialty in unique in-home presentations with
personal delivery and installation. Some of his celebrity private collectors
include, Stone Phillips (NBC), Eddie Murphy, Scarlet Johansson, Salma
Hayek, Shaquiel O'Neil, Jamie Foxx and Kiefer Sutherland to name a few.
He has served as a board member for eight years and was instrumental in
development of The Avenue of Art and Design in West Hollywood
California, which promotes the design industry as a whole to the trade and
public. All galleries participate in an art walks that are held every other
month. Evan has developed relationships with many prominent sponsors
including Architectural Digest, Museum of Modern Art, Museum of
Contempory Art, Angelino Magazine, Jaguar, Lexus, Rolls Royce and
others. Many of his gallery shows were also fund raisers, which benefit
many different charities including Make a Wish Foundation, Project Angel
Food, Foundation for Aids research, and battered woman and children's
shelters.
The Avenue's of Art and Design received the prestigious Governor's award
for one of the best new business districts in 2002 as well as a Certificate of
recognition of contribution to success of the Avenues.
