ORDINANCE D-2142-13
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA,
ADOPTING A PROMOTIONAL FUND FOR THE CARMEL FIRE DEPARTMENT AS
CHAPTER 2,ARTICLE 4, SECTION 2-142 OF THE CARMEL CITY CODE
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, has the authority to create
certain City funds to be used for lawful purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Carmel Fire Department desires to have a promotional fund established for its
Department and to have it initially funded in the sum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the Common Council hereby the establishment and funding of this fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel,
Indiana, as follows:
Section 1: The foregoing Recitals are fully incorporated herein by this reference.
Section 2: That Chapter 2, Article 4, Section 2-142 is hereby approved, adopted and made a part
of the Carmel City Code and shall read as follows:
"Sec.2-142. Carmel Fire Department Promotional Fund.
(a) There is established a Carmel Fire Department Promotional Fund.
(b) The aforementioned fund shall be funded by monies appropriated from the general fund, and shall be.used for lawful
purposes as provided by applicable law,with all monies therein being properly receipted for and disbursed.
(c) The fund shall be administered by the Carmel Fire Chief.
(d) The fund shall consist of monies properly appropriated and deposited therein in an amount not to'exceed Three
Thousand Dollars($3,000.00)during any one calendar year.
(e) The Carmel Fire Chief shall account, by separate line item, for the receipt and disbursement of all siifs received by
and disbursed from the fund."
Section 3. All prior City ordinances or parts thereof that are inconsistent with any provision of this
Ordinance are hereby repealed as of the effective date of this Ordinance.
Section 4. If any portion of this Ordinance is for any reason declared to be unconstitutional or
invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance so long as
enforcement of same can be given the same effect.

Section 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and signing
by the Mayor.
