GENERAL NOTES - CONSTRUCTION
A. Refer to Project General Notes and Reference Specifications on sheet A001
regarding new construction, finishes and additional associated project requriements.
B. Wall construction and/or patching of walls, where existing doors are demolished, is
to match existing adjacent wall construction conditions, unless noted otherwise.
C. Provide air-tight acoustical and/or fire-rated sealant around perimeter of all wall
types with acoustical insulation.
D. All joints and penetrations of fire rated assemblies to be sealed with approved U.L.
listed "F" and "T" systems. Submit product data and installation information prior to
installation for Architect's approval. Label/identify fire rated partitions for future
reterence on each side of wall above ceiling, concealed from view. Note the UL
assembly designation with 6" red stenciled letters
E. Dimensions are taken from the face of masonry walls, column centerlines, finish face
of existing walls and/or stud face of new walls unless otherwise indicated.
F. Verify all critical dimensions within and/or related to the existing building.
Dimensions and conditions indicated were determined by visual survey and/or
information from existing drawings.
G. +/- Dimension is equal to verify in field.
H. Plans are not to be scaled for finish or wall information. Contractor to contact
Carson Design Associates for any questions or clarifications on plan dimensions.
J. Smooth, patch, repair and install new construction surfaces as rqeuired to receive
new finishes. Reference finish drawings for additional information.
GENERAL NOTES - DOOR & HARDWARE
1 Door stops to be floor mounted unless othervvise noted in door schedule remarks. Provide
blocking inside wall for all wall mounted stops.
2 All new and existing doors to receive building standard lever style accessible handles.
3 All existing doors to be repaired for any damaged, scratched or wom areas.
4 All office doors to receive (1) coat hook. All coat hooks to be mounted on center of door at 5'-0"
a.f.f.
5 Egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key, special
knowledge or effort. In group A occupancies having an occupant load less than 300, and group
B,M & S occupancies, the main exterior door(s) are permitted to be equipped with key operated
locking devices or deadbolt from the egress side provided that the locking device is readily
distinguishable as locked and a readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or
adjacent to the door stating "This door to remain unlocked when building is occupied". The sign
shall be 1" high letters on a contrasting background. Refer to 2009 International Building Code
Section 1008.1.8.3,2.,2.2 (Veriiy with local building code requirements).
6 Hardware Specifications given communicate perFormace and design intent. Contractor shall
coordinate hardware submittal to comply with all building standard styles, finishes and
specifications. Substitutions may be allowed unless noted othervvise.
7 Contractor shall coordinate scope for all security devices, conduit, power and junction box
requirements with security vendor.
8 All access-controlled egress doors shall comply with IBC Seciton 1008.1.4.4. Door hardware
supplier shall verify compliance and recommend to Architect any modifications to the door
hardware group as required.
