Hi Roger,
Sorry it's been a crazy few days here. We aresupportive of removing the ground sign and installing the wall sign instead.
The size as proposed (94.55 sq. ft. ) does meet the requirements for wall sign sizes of the Sign Ordinance. It is 69.5%of
the height (70%is allowed) and 46.4%of the width (85% is allowed).They will need a new sign permit for this wall sign
though. Here is a link to the application..If they would also like to install directional signage at the entrance, now that
the ground sign will be removed,:we are supportive of that as well.The maximum size allowed is 3' tall and 3 sq. ft. I
would need to see the design and placement of these signs, in order to approve them through`a sign permit application.
In our Dept. Report, Alexia has removed the item and labeled it as withdrawn.Thank you for helping Holiday Inn and
,coming to a solution which works for everyone.

Regarding the requested variances for the proposed wall sign of the Holiday Inn Express on North Michigan Road,the
Petitioner is willing tovulfhdravv the variance requests if the following information can be confirmed by your office:
1. If the previously approved monument sign is removed, would the proposed wall sign be permitted as designed
(i.e. compliant with size, style, etc.). Please refer to the attached drawing which was submitted for the
variances.
