Attention: Plan Commission
RE: Horizon Bank — Northeast Quadrant of the Old Meridian and
Carmel Drive Intersection
Dear Plan Commission Member:
It is my pleasure to introduce the Carmel Horizon Bank Project for your approval.
Horizon Bank is a 140 year old publically traded financial institution headquartered in Michigan City,
Indiana thatrecently entered the greater Indianapolis market with the acquisition of Heartland
Community Bank. The success that Horizon is experiencing in this new market has spurred the desire
for additional growth into the City of Carmel.
The Carmel Horizon Bank branch will be one of Horizon's larger branches offering traditional banking
services in addition to mortgage and commercial lending. The two story brick building will be
located at the northeast corner of the Old Meridian and Carmel Drive intersection conforming to the
Old Meridian Village zoning with a three lane drive through at the rear. In keeping with Horizon's
corporate image, the building will be capped with a dark green cornice and dark green awnings over
the first floor windows. The entrance will be sheltered from the elements with a flat cable
suspended cantilevered canopy with a traditional blade style sign above invoking a historic theme
fitting the look of the Old Meridian neighborhood.
Horizon is excited by the opportunities that Carmel offers and looks forward to becoming a member of
this exceptional community. if you have questions regarding the details of the project, please
