1. ALL MECHANICAL ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, FIRE SUPPRESSION, AND

2. THE DESIGN/BUILD CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH THE INDIANA
BUILDING CODE, THE INDIANA FIRE CODE, AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE
LAWS, CODES, RULES AND REGULATIONS THAT APPLY TO DESIGN AND
WSTALLATION OF FlRE SPRW KLER/FlRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS.
3. THE FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR SHALL GENERATE ALL REQUIRED
DRAW WGS, AND SHALL FlLE THOSE DRAW WGS, AND RELATED
DOCUMENTS, WITH THE STATE AND LOCAL AUTHORI➢ES HAVING
JURISDICTION OVER THE PROJECT.
4. PROVIDE NEW OR RELOCATE EXISTING SPRWKLER HEADS AS
REQUIRED. PROVIDE MISSING COVER/ESCUTCHEON PLATES FOR
SPRINKLER HEADS WHERE APPLICABLE. FIELD VERIFY EXISTING
CONDITIONS PRIOR TO THE START OF WORK.
5. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS: CONTRACTOR TO ENSURE ALL NEW AND
EXISTING FIRE EXTINGUISHERS ARE INSTALLED ACCORDING TO NFPA 10.
COORDINATE WITH OWNER/LANDLORD ON E%iINGUISHER iYPE AND
HOUSING. MAXIMUM TRAVEL DISTANCE OF 75 FEET FROM ANY POINT TO
A VISIBLE EXTINGUISHER.
GENERAL PROJECT NOTES
1. ALL WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE EXISTING BUILDING
CONSTRUCTION TYPE AS DEFINED BY SECTION 601 OF THE INDIANA BUILDING CODE.
2. ALL WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF ALL APPLICABLE STATE
AND LOCAL BUILDING CODES. CONTRACTORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING
THE CURRENT APPLICABLE BUILDING CODE�S) FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE SCOPE OF
WORK.
3. CONTRACTOR(S� SHALL VISITTHE WORK SITE PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT. THE

6. THE GENERAL CONTRAQOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE OWNER REGARDWG
ALL ON-SITE ACTIVITIES; SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WORK SCHEDULE MATERIALS
STORAGE AND HANDLING, DELIVERIES, ACCESS TO THE WORK SITE, TRAFFIC
CONTROL, AND BUILDING/PUBLIC SAFETY PROCEDURES DURING CONSTRUCTION.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL AL50 COORDINATE WORK "BY OTHERS" WITH HIS/HER OWN
ACTIVITIES AS NECESSARY TO EXECUTE THE OVERALL PROJECT SCOPE.
7. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE LANDLORD, DAILY
WORKWG HOURS, WEEKEND HOURS AND HOURS THAT MAY BE WORKED PRIOR TO
AND DURING HOLIDAYS. LANDLORD RESERVES THE RIGHTTO RESTRICT
CONSTRUCTION TO NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS WHEN THAT CONSTRUCTION IS DEEMED
TO INTERFERE WITH THE OPERATIONS OF ADJACENT TENANTS.
8. FOR THOSE ITEMS TO BE ORDERED REQUIRING LEAD TIME, THE CONTRACTOR
SHALL COORDINATE THE PROJECT SCHEDULE ACCORDINGLY AND COMMUNICATE
TO THE OWNER, TENANT, AND SCHOTf DESIGN WHEN DECISIONS MUST BE RENDERED
IN ORDER FOR THE CONTRACTOR TO MEET THE PROJECT SCHEDULE THE OWNER,
TENANT, OR DESIGNER/ARCHITECT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DELAYS RESULTING
FROM THE CONTRACTOR'S FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE MATERIAL LEAD TIMES.
9. SUBSTITUTIONS FOR SPECIFICALLY NAMED PRODUCTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED
WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL FROM THE DESIGNER. SUBMIT REQUESTS FOR
SUBSTITUTIONS WITH APPROPRIATE SUPPORT INFORMATION TO THE DESIGNER.
ALLOW REASONABLY SUFFlCIENi TIME FOR iHE DESIGNER TO REVIEW THE REQUEST
AND RENDER A DEQSION.
10. SCHOTf DESIGN, INC., SHALL NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER, OR BE IN CHARGE OF,
AND SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A CONTRACTOR'S CONSTRUCTION MEANS
MEfHODS, SCHEDULES, SEQUENCES, OR SAFEfY. THE CONTRACTORS SHALL BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR WORKERS AND THE
PUBLIC AT ALL TIMES.
11. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL ESTABLISH WITH THE LANDLORD CLEANUP
PROCEDURES AND GUIDELINES TO BE FOLLOWED ON A DAILY BASIS IN ORDER TO
CONDUCT BUSWESS IN A SAFE AND CLEAN ENVIRONMENi.
12. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE LANDLORD, AN
AREA FOR STAGING OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, DUMPSTER AND
PARKING CONSTRUCTION AND DELNERY VEHICLES. THE USE OF EXISTING REST ROOM
FACILITIES SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE LANDLORD. ONLY THOSE DESIGNATED AREAS
SHALL BE USED BY CONSTRUCTION CREWS.
13. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL USE DUST PARTITIONS TO MINIMIZE
DISTURBANCES OF DAILY TENANT OPERATIONS DURING DEMOLITION AND
CONSTRUCTION WORK. DUST PARTITIONS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED OF 2X4 WOOD
STUDS @ 24"O.C., MSULATION AND 6 MIL VAPOR BARRIER ON EACH SIDE.
14. CONTACT THE DESIGNER IMMEDIATELY IF, W THE FIELD, CONFLICTS ARE
DISCOVERED BETWEEN COMPONENTS OF DIFFERENT SYSTEMS THAT PREVENT THE
INSTALLATION OF THOSE COMPONENTS AS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS �I.E.
WHERE EXISTING MECHANICAL DUCTWORK MAY PREVENT THE MSTALLATION OF
LIGHTING FIXTURES AS INDICATED ON THE CEILING PLAN�.
15. SCHOTf DESIGN, WC., IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE IDENTIFICATION, DISCOVERY,
PRESENCE, HANDLING, REMOVAL, DISPOSAL OF, OR EXPOSURE TO ANY PERSONS,
THAT OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS IN ANY FORM ON THE PROJECT SIiE.
16. PROVIDE FIRE-TREATED WOOD BLOCKING IN WALLS FOR ALL WALL HUNG ITEMS
INCLUDING MILLWORK, WALL STOPS, CABINETRY, ETC.
17. SHOP DRAWINGS OR CATALOG CUTS MUST BE SUBMITfED TO SCHOTf DESIGN,

CONTRACTORS PER AGREEMENT WITH THE OWNER. ALL TRADES SHALL DESIGN AND
