Conn, An~elina V From: Sent: To: Subject: Brewer, Scott I Thursday, August 25, 2005 9:39 PM Conn, Angelina V RE: Carmel science & tech park, blk 11 - medical office bldg Since they are proposing to leave the existing vegetation in place (and it does form a fairly substantial buffer - one that would take years to replace), and the surveyor's office has agreed to the proposal, I would recommend that the department support it as well. Scott Brewer. City Forester Environmental Planner- DOCS One Civic Square Carmel, IN 46032 Ph: (317) 571-2478 Fx: (317) 571-2426 ..... Original Message ..... From: Conn, Angelina V Sent: Monday, August 15, 2005 5:19 PM To: Brewer, Scott I Cc: Griffin, Matt L Subject: Carmel science & tech park, blk 11 - medical office bldg Hi, Scott: the petitioner is possibly seeking a variance from chapter 20D, chart B -- they want to preserve the existing vegetation along the south property line adjacent to a Lenox trace rather than erecting a solid visual screen, please let me know if this variance request is even needed for the site. this is what the petitioner wrote to me: "As you know, they are planning to building the parking lot right up to the boundary of the legal drain easement. The surveyor won't allow any plantings in that easement, so the buffer that exists (the tree line) is all that is proposed. Whether or not it meets the ordinance is up to your interpretation of whether what is there now constitutes a solid buffer. I've seen what it looks like today, and it's very solid. I can't speak to how it looks in the winter. It's mostly (if not ali) deciduous, but it's very thick, and the branches alone should provide some good screening. The reason I ask is that if we are going to need a variance for this buffer, I want to make sure it's included in Friday's application." thanks! angie Page 1 of 1 Conn, Angelina V From: Benyola, Linda Sent: Friday, August 12, 2005 4:30 PM To: Mindham, Daren; Brewer, Scott I; Conn, Angelina V; Griffin, Matt L; Hollibaugh, Mike P; Keeling, Adrienne M; Littlejohn, David W Subject: New Submittal Received 8/12/05 @ 4 PM' BW Partners RE: Carmel Drive Office Building (DS Variance Request) Contact Person' Mary E.
