FISCHER HOMES RADON REDUCTION SYSTEM NOTES:
THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE TO BE INSTALLED AS PART OF FISCHER HOMES
RADON REDUCTION SYSTEM:
1. A UNIFORM LAYER OF CLEAN AGGREGATE AT A MINIMUM OF 4 INCHES
UNDER THE CONCRETE SLAB.
2. A 6 MIL POLYETHYLENE OR EQUIVALENT FLEXIBLE SHEETING MATERIAL
SHALL BE PLACED ON TOP OF THE GRAVEL. THE SHEETING SHALL FIT
CLOSELY AROUND ANY PIPE, WIRE, OR OTHER PENETRATIONS OF THE
MATERIAL. ALL PUNCTURES OR TEARS IN MATERIALS SHALL BE SEALED
OR COVERED WITH ADDITIONAL SHEETING.
3. A 3 INCH DIAMETER PVC PLUMBING TEE SHALL BE EMBEDDED VERTIC-
ALLY INTO THE SUB -SLAB AGGREGATE AND THROUGH THE SHEETING
BEFORE THE SLAB IS POURED. THE PIPE SHALL BE EXTENDED UP
THROUGH THE BUILDING FLOORS AND TERMINATE AT LEAST 12 INCHES
ABOVE THE SURFACE OF THE ROOF IN A LOCATION 10 FEET AWAY FROM
ANY WINDOW OR OTHER OPENINGS INTO THE CONDITIONED SPACES OF
THE BUILDING THAT IS LESS THAN 2 FEET BELOW THE EXHAUST POINT.
NOTE: ALL FITTINGS ARE TO GLUED AND SECURED AS NEEDED.
IN ADDITION, FISCHER HOMES WILL PROVIDE APPROXIMATELY 6 FEET
OF VERTICAL DISTANCE WHERE THE VENT PASSES THROUGH THE ATTIC
FOR POSSIBLE INSTALLATION OF A FUTURE EXHAUST FAN.
