BRENDLE LEGAL DRAIN BASIN MAP (WESTERN SYSTEM) POST-DEVELOPED PIPE SIZING BASIN MAPS POST-DEVELOPED STORAGE ROUTING BASIN MAPS LAKESIDE PARK SUBDIVISION DRAINAGE NARRATIVE Roehling Enterprises, Inc. is proposing the development of a residential subdivision in Hamilton County to be known as Lakeside Park Subdivision. The site is located on the South Side of West 141 st Street and the West Side of Towne Road. The site is more specifically located in a part of the Southeast Quarter of Section 20, Township 18 North, Range 3 East in Clay Township, Hamilton County, Indiana. EXISTING CONDITIONS The pre-developed Lakeside Park Subdivision site is part of the J.W. Brendle watershed. The existing site drains to three different watersheds. There are approximately 53 acres on the site that contribute to the J.W. Brendle watershed that terminates to the south. The pre-developed basin in the eastern portion of the site amounts to approximately 63 acres and flows west under Towne Road to the Elliot Creek Drain. The remainder of the basins in the north portion of the site is part of the Stultz and Almond watershed that also flows to the west under Towne Road. The proposed site is divided into two separate drainage systems. Stoeppelwerth and Associates Inc. have analyzed the entire J.W. Brendle watershed and, as maintained by the Hamilton County Surveyor, the allowable release rate for future development in this area, including Lakeside Park Subdivision, has been determined by the full.capacity of a downstream culvert underneath West 116th Street. However, the pre-developed conditions of the eastern half of the site have been analyzed according to the standard drainage ordinance of Hamilton County. The soil of this site is primarily type B and C, Brookston and Crosby. The existing land use is almost entirely agricultural, except for some woods that exist on a large lot on the south side of West 141 st Street. Stoeppelwerth and Associates Inc. is designing five new subdivisions within the J.W. Brendle watershed, including Lakeside Park Subdivision. The method used to determine the allowable release rate included dividing the full capacity of the most restrictive culvert at West 116th Street by the total amount of acres in the watershed, which was calculated using a delineated map provided by Hamilton County. This resulted in approximately 0.24 cubic feet per second for each acre. Taking the total amount of onsite acres within the watershed and multiplying it by the aforementioned calculation can determine the release rate that each development must not exceed. Allowable 100-year release rate per J.W. Brendle Watershed Analysis: 53 acres of watershed onsite x 0.24 cfs per acre = 12.43 cfs As mentioned before, the release rate for the eastern pre-developed conditions was determined according to standard procedures. Time of Concentrations (Tc's) and Curve Numbers (CN' s) were calculated using TR-55 methodology. These pre-determined values were entered into ICPR and used to compute multiple hydrographs. 2-year and 10- year hydrographs were developed for the single basin. Pre-Developed Discharge to Elliot Creek Drain (Critical Duration Analysis) 2-Year, 24-Hour Storm Event- 30.29 c.f.s. 1 O-Year, 24-Hour Storm Event- 58.85 c.f.s. PROPOSED CONDITIONS There are two separate detention systems for the Lakeside Park Subdivision Site. They are identified as the "Western System", which is part of the overall detention modeling in the J.W. Brendle watershed, and the "Eastern System", which is discharged into the Elliot Creek watershed through a long run of offsite storm sewer along the north side of West 136th Street. The Western System consists of three detention ponds draining the west half of the site from the north to the south. A future subdivision to be known as The Ridges at Hayden Run lies to the west of Lakeside Park Subdivision and is also part of the overall detention modeling in the J.W. Brendle watershed. The series of ponds release into another proposed subdivision called The Lakes at Hayden Run to the south. The Eastern System consists of four detention ponds draining the east half of the site from the north to the south. This system will discharge under Towne Road into a proposed storm sewer on the north side of W. 136th Street until it crosses the street and empties into a temporary ditch that will eventually enter the Elliot Creek Drain. The post-developed site was analyzed using a combination of programs. All pond routing and analysis was completed using Advanced ICPR. This program routes and analyzes all components in a storm system on a user-defined time interval. The second program used was StormCAD. This program analyzes pipe sizing for pipe networks other than those routing water between lakes. Following is a list of the peak discharges for the site.
