The C/O was issued back in May. It looks like it just came in as an interior only project.

Nick,
Have we given a C/O to them? I would like to have you put a hold for landscaping on this project. Let me know
what you can do. Thanks.

They owe me landscaping, and they have not been forthcoming about when it will be completed. I want to
make sure I get an email back from someone.

Attached is the application for the interior work only. They had proposed a new canopy/façade at one point and worked with P&Z but they never
submitted an application for that project. Have they installed a façade?

Thanks Angie for your cooperation and quick response on this matter!
I assume you will notify the Building Department of your approvals internally (they may
be copied above).
We will continue with the State of Indiana and then the Carmel Building Department to
complete the process.
Have a great day as well!
Thanks,

Angie,
Per our voice mail this morning, attached are some photos and plans for the porte
cochere renovation planned for the Holiday Inn at 251 Pennsylvania Parkway.
There are three photos from a distance showing the existing porte cochere and its
relationship to the rest of the building. I have also attached the preliminary construction
drawings showing the proposed renovations:
• The bottom is to be raised from just under 11'-0" to allow 12'-8" clearance per
new franchisee requirements
• The arch and "steeple" above are being removed and being replaced by a
classical style pediment façade type wall with straight lintel.
• The existing "block" columns are being stripped of EIFS and rebuilt with a square
profile in EIFS but with stone bases. There will be a vertical reveal in each face
of the new columns.
• There will be no work to the existing roof or overall footprint of the porte cochere,
except where the new façade requires it..
• Colors and stone materials will match the newly installed and painted colors
approved by Carmel last fall (and shown in the attached photos).
7
• Final drawings will be issued in the next few days.
Hopefully Carmel can approve this package like our previous submittal last fall. Please
review and comment.
Thanks for your time with this.
Thanks,
Bill Malarski
