Walgreens sign plan revisions Hi Kevin, Thanks for sending these revisions over. It's safe to say we can support the following three variance requests: 1. Number of signs—3 requested, 2 allowed 2. Spandrel Panel Height—Greater than 70% requested 3. Signs not facing a ROW— North: 1 requested, 0 allowed Here is the breakdown of sizes, percentages, variances and Dept. support: 1. South Wall sign: 83.56 sq. ft. a. 97.6% H b. 91.96%W c. Variance required for Spandrel Panel height. d. The width is allowed in this instance to go up to 95%allowed due to the smaller wall area available for the signage. See 25.07.02-03 c) 4. b. (however,4 should be 5—there was a typo in the ordinance.) 2. Please provide more details (size, lighting, installation, etc.) on the Drive Thru and Exit signs on the canopy on the west elevation of the building. These signs must be 3 sq.ft.or less in order to be considered exempt. 3. North Awning sign: 10.79 sq.ft. a. 73.75% H b. 39%W c. Variance required for Spandrel Panel height and for sign not facing a ROW. d. The Dept. is in support of this awning sign. 4. East Wall sign: 83.56 sq.ft. a. 97.6% H b. 37.3%W c. Variance required for Spandrel Panel height. d. The Dept. is in support of this wall sign. 45. East Awning sign: 10.79 sq.ft. a. 73.75%H b. 26%W c. Variance required for Spandrel Panel height. d. Can allow the awning sie on the east without variance(for two signs facing one ROW) because the overall allowable square footage for the east is 136.52 sq.ft.The main wall sign is 83.56 sq.ft.+the awning sign 10.79 sq. ft. =94.35 sq. ft.This is 42.107 sq.ft. less than the total allowed for this facade. e. Also do not have to consider this an extra sign, because it fits the size allowed for the east elevation (25.07.02-03 c) 1. a.) f. The Dept. is in support of this awning sign. We'll look for the updated variance application and work to get you on the November 25 docket for Hearing Officer.
