CARMEL ZONING ORDINANCE Z-289, SECTION 29.4.2(3): The Director, Departrnent of Community Services (or sta�f)
shall approve or deny the improvement location permit(building permit)within frve (51 workina davs of ihe receipt of the
writien application fortn and accompanying materials. The improvement location permit(building pertnit) shall be issued
when the propased siructure, improvement or use and its locatlon confortn in all respects to this ordinance.
The followina must be received bv the Deoartment of Communitv Services before anv buildina or remodelina oermit can be
reviewed or issued bv staff:
1. ONE completed Improvement Locabon Permit(Building Pertnit) application.
2. TWO (2) complete seLs of construction plans. Building elevatlons, foundation plan, floor plan and typical
wali section mus2 be shown. All cross-sections must be properfy detaiied and labeled. At lease one cross-
sectian must show R-values of buiiding materials to ensure compliance with the Indiana Energy Codes. If
minimum R-values are not met on cross-section an Energy Code Compliance Worksheet must he
completed. If manufactured trusses are used, a diagram must be included with building plans for all Vusses
being used. Truss diagrams must be stamped with the seal of the registered architect or engineer who is
responsible for that design. Only Indiana registrations will be recognized. If a commercial construction,
plans must be stamoed aooroved bv the Indiana State Deoartrnent of Fre Prevention 8 Buildina SafeN
Indicate total height of building on plans.
3. ONE copy of sewer permit(from City af Cartnel Engineering Dept, Hamilton Westem Utlli�es or Clay
Regional Sewer Distrid whichever applies), or septic pertnit(Hamilton County Health Departrnent).
4. ONE (1) copy of plot plan from subdivision development pfan.
5. TYVO (2) copies of a sde plan or plot plan showing the following REQUIRED infortnation (can be obtained
from the landowner or developer):
—Name and address of designer of plan with date
—Name and address of owner
—lot number and subdivision or applicable general description
—�ot drawn to scaie—all dimensions
—Scale and north arzow

—Minimum front building setback line per approved development plan Qnclude all front yard)
—All roads, alleys, rights-of-way, etc.
—All other utili�es and drainage righ�-of-way and easements

—Ail aceessory buiidings— ebsting or praposed
—All sidewalks and driveways
—Sewer and water lines, septic system (tanks& filed sysiem) and well locaton
—Drainage flow anows
—All drainage swales and subsurface fadlities (retentloNdetenuon areas, etc.)
—Sump pump (sump pump pits) showing discharge locations
—Geothermal heat pump discharge locatlons
