CARMEL ZONING ORDINANCE Z-289,,SECTION 29.4.2(3): The Director, Departrnent of Community Servicas (or stafQ
shall approve or deny the improvement locatian permif(buiiding permd)within frve 151 workina davs of the receipt of the
written application fortn and accompanying matenals. The improvement locadon pertnit(building permit) shalf be issued
when the proposed structure, improvement or use and its location confortn in all respecis to this ordinance.
The followina must 6e received bv the Deoartment of Communiri Services before anv buildina or remodelina oertnit can be
reviewed or issued tiv staff�
1. ONE completed Improvement Location Permit(Building Permit) application.
2. TWO (2) complete sets of construction plans. Building elevations, foundation plan, floor plan and rypical
wall section must be shown. All cross-sections must be properly detailed and labeled. At lease one cross-
section must show R-values of building materials to ensure compliance with the Indiana Energy Codes. If
minimum R-values are not met on cross-section an Energy Code Compiiance Worksheet must be
completed. If manufactured trusses are used, a diagram must be inciuded with building plans for all trusses
being used. Truss diagrams must be stamped with the seal of the regisiered arch8eci or engineer who is
responsible for that design. Only Indiana registrations will be recognized. If a commercial construction,
plans must be stamoed aooroved bv the India�a Siate Deoartrnent of Fre Prevention 8 Buildina Saferi
Indicate total height of building on pians.
3. ONE copy of sewer pertnR(from City of Carmel Engineering Dept, Hamiiton WesYem Uttlfies or Clay
Regional Sewer District wnichever applies), or septic pertnit(Hamiiton County Health Departrnent).
4. ONE (1) copy of plot plan from subdivision development plan.
5. TYVO (2) copies of a sfte plan or plot plan showing the foliowing REQUIRED information (can be obtained
from the landowner or developer):
—Name and address of designer of plan with date
—Name and address of owner
—lot number and subdivisian or applicable general descnption
—�ot drawn to scale—all dimensions
—Scale and north arrow
—LoVProperry lines
—Minimum front building setback line perapproved development plan (include all front yard)
—All roads, alleys, nghts-of-way, etc.
—All other utili6es and drainage rights-of-way and easements
—Any applicable Aood plain area (Elevation Certifiqte if necessary)
—8uiiding pad elevation and lot comer elevations
—All accessory buildings— ensting or proposed
—All sidewalks and driveways
