CARMEL ZONING ORDINANCE Z-289, SECTION 29:42(3): The Direcfor, Departrnent of Communiry Services (or stafn
shall approve or deny the improvement'location pertnd(buiiding,permit)within five (5)workino davs of the receipt of the
written appliption fortn and'accompanying matenals. The improvement locadon pertnit(building pertnit) shall be issued
when the proposed struciure, improvement or use and its location conform in all respects to this ordinance.
The followina must be received bv the Deoartment of Communitv Services before,anv buildina orremodelina oertnit can be
reviewed or issued bv staff:
1. ON� completed Improvement LocaGon Permit(Building Permit) application.
2. TWO (2) complete sets of consWction plans. Building elevations, foundation p(an, floor p(an and typicai
wall section must be shown. All cross-sections must be properiy detailed and Iabeled. At lease one cross-
section must show R-values of building materials to ensure compliance with the Indiana Energy Codes. If
minimum R-values are not met on cross-section an Energy Code Compliance Worksheet must be
completed. If manufactured trusses are used, a diagram must be included with building plans for all trusses
being used. Truss diagrams must be stamped with the seal of the regisfered architect or engineer who is
responsible for that design. Only Indiana registrations will be recognized. lf a commercial construction,
plans must be stamoed aooroved bv the Indiana State Deoartment of Fre Prevention& Buiidina Safet�
Ind�cate total height of building on plans.
3. ONE copy of sewer permd(from City of Carmel Engineenng Oept, Hamilton Westem Utiiities or Ciay
Regional Sewer D'istrict whichever applies), or saptic permit(Hamilton County Health Oepartrnent).
4. ONE (1) copy of plot plan from subdivision development plan.
S. TWO (2) copies of asde plan or plot plan showing the following REQUIRED information (can be obtained
from the landowner or developer):
—Name and address of designer of plan with date
—Name and address of owner
—lot number and subdivision or applicable general description
—�ot drawn to scale—all dimensions
—Scale and north arrow
—LoVProperty lines
—Minrmum front buitdinq setback line per approved development plan (incfude all frant yard)
—All roads, alleys, rights-of-way, etc.
—All other utilities and dreinage nghts-of-way and easemenLs
—Any aopiicable flood plain area (ElevaUOn Certificate if necessary)
—8uilding pad elevation and �ot comer elevations
—All aceessory buiidings— ebsting or proposed
—�ill sidewalks and driveways
�ewer and water lines, septic sysiem (tanks& filed sysiem) and well location
—Drainage flow arrows
—AU drainage swales and subsurtace faalities (retentioNdetenuon areas, etc.)
—Sump pump (sump pumo pits) showing discharge loca6ons
—Geothermal heat pump discnarge IopUOns
