CARMEL ZONING ORDINANCE Z-289, SECTION 29.42(3); The Director, Department of Community Services (or staffj
shall approve or deny the improvement loca6on permit(building permit) within five (51 workina davs of the receipt of the
written application form and accompanying materials. The improvement location permit (building permd)shall be issued
when the proposed structure, improvement or use and its locafion confo�m in all respects to this ordinance.
The followinq must be received by the Department of Communitv Services before anY buildinq or remodelinq permit can be
reviewed or issued bV staff:
1, ONE completed Improvement Location Pen�nit (Building Permit) application.
2. TNlO (2) cemplete sets of construction plans. Building elevations, foundation plan, iloor plan and typical
wall secfion must be shown. All cross-sections must be properly detailed and labeled. At lease one cross-
� secfion mu;t show R-values of building materials to ensure compliance with the Indiana Energy Codes. If
minimum R-values are not met on cross-section an Energy Code Compliance Wo,ii�neei rnust oe
completed. If manufactured trusses are used, a diagram must be included with building plans for all irussas
being used. Truss diagrams must be stamped with the seal ot Uie registered architect or engineer who is
responsible for that design. Only Indiana regisVations will be tecognized. If a commercial consWction,
pians must be stamped approved 6V the Indiana State Department of Fire Prevention 8 Buildinq Safetv.
Indicate total height of building on plans.
3. ONE copy of sewer permit(from City of Carmel Engineering Dept., Hamilton Westem Util'�ties or Clay
Regional Sewer District whichever applies), or sepdc permit(Hamilton County Health Departrnent).
4. ONE (1) copy of plot pian from subciivision development plan.
5. TWO (2) copies of a site plan or plot plan showing the following REQUIRED information (can be obtained
from the landowner or developer):
—Name and address of designer of plan with date
—Name and address of owner
—Lot number and subdivision or applicable general description
' —Lot drawn to scale —all dimensions
—Scale and north arrow
—Lot/Property lines
—Minimum front building setback line per approved development plan Qncfude alI (ront yard)
—All roads, alleys,rights-0f-way, etc.
—All other utilrties and drainage rights-of-way and,easements
—Any applicable flood plain area (Elevafion Cer6ficate if necessary)
—Building pad elevatlon and lot comer elevations
—All accessory buiidings— ebsting or proposed
—All sidewalks and driveways
—Sewer and water lines, septic system (tanks 8 filed system) and well location
—Drainage flow arrows
—All drainage swales and subsurface facilities (retenbon/detenbon areas, etc.)
—Sump pump (sump pump pits) showing discharge locations
—Geothermal heat pump discharge locabons
H land is not within a platted subdivisian, a legal,description is needed.
ALL CONSTRUCTION IS SUBJECT TO FIELD INSPECTION

DEr ARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES. I FURTHER CERTIFY THAT THE JOINING OF WATER SUPPL.ypIpING
SHALL BE MADE WITH LEAD-FREE SOLDERS AND FLUXES. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN A '`—
