CARMEL ZONING ORDINANCE Z-289, SECTION 29.4.2(3): The Director, Department of Community Services (or staffj
shalf approve or deny the improvemenflocation permR(building permit) within frve (5)workina davs of the receipt of the
written aPplica0on form and accompanying materials. The improvement location permit (building permit) shall be issued
when the proposed structure, improvement or use and its location conform in ali respects to this ordinance.
The followinq must be received bv the Department of Communitv Services before anv buildina or remodelinq oermit can be
reviewed or issued bv staff:
1. ONE completed Improvement Location Permit (Building Permit) application.
2. 1W0 (2) complete sets of construction plans. Building elevations, foundation plan, floor plan and typical
wall section must be shown. All cross-sections must be properly detailed and lab�led. At lease one cross-
' section must show R-values of building materials to ensure compliance with the Indiana Energy Codes. If
minimum R-values are not met on cross-section an Energy Code Compliance Wo:ksneet rnust oe
completed. If manufactured trusses are used, a diagram must be included with building plans for all trusses
being used. Truss diagrams must be stamped with the seal oi llie registered archRect or engineer who is
responsible for that�esign. On!y Indiana registrations will be recognized. If a commercial consVuction,
plans must be stamped approved bv the Indiana State Deoartment of Fire Prevention 8 Buildinq SafeN
Indicate total height of building on plans.
3. ONE copy of sewer permit(from City of Carmel Engineering Dept, Hamilton Western Utilities or Clay
Regional Sewer District whichever applies), or sepdc permit(Hamilton County Health Departrnent).
4. ONE (1) copy of plot plan from subdivision development plan.
5. TWO (2) copies of a site plan or plot plan showing the following REQUIRED information (can be obtained
from the landowner or developer):
—Name and address of designer of plan with date
—Name and address of owner
—Lot number and subdivision or applicable general description
' —Lot drawn to scale— alI dimensions
—Scale and north arrow
—LoUProperty lines
--Minimum.front building setback line per approved development plan (nclude all front yard)
—All roads,alieys, rights-of-way, etc. r

—AII other ublities and drainage rights-of-way and easements
—Any applicable Flood plain area (Elevation CeRificate if necessary)
—Building pad elevation and lot comer elevaUons
—All accessory buildings— ebsting or proposed
—All sidewalks and driveways
—Sewer and water lines, sepdc system (tanks &filed system) and well locabon
—Drainage flow arrows
—All drainage swales and subsurface facilities (retention/detention areas, etc.)
—Sump pump (sump pump pits) showing discharge locabons
—Geothermal heat pump discharge locations

OEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES. I FURTHER CERTIFY THAT THE JOINING OF WATER SUPPLY PIPING
SHALL BE MADE WITH LFAD-FREE SOLDERS AND FLUXES. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN A
REPIACEMENT OF THE SYS7EM. PLUMBIN CODE -509-5.

indicate the nature and extent of the work proposed and to determine compliance with all applicable codes and
ordinances.
In addi�on to the above, the Building Inspector will he provided with any information reladve to commitrnents made
in the zoning process for the property imolved. This would include any ADLS and BZA activity.
